The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 407

Seeing her, Joanna beamed. "Winona! You look so gorgeous tonight. I've always told you, you have to dress up while you're young. What's the point of waiting until you're old?"

Winona handed over the gift. "Happy wedding day, Joanna."

Joanna happily thanked her and opened the box. Seeing the heavy, intricately designed gold bracelets, she immediately slipped them on.

She grabbed Winona's hand. "I love them. Your gifts are always exactly my taste."

Standing nearby, Willow scoffed. "Her taste in gifts is incredibly tacky. I don't see what there is to be so thrilled about."

Joanna glared at her sister. "It is my wedding day. If you ruin my mood, I will absolutely ruin yours. Don't think I don't know exactly what kind of messy drama goes on in your house."

Knowing she could never win a verbal spar against her sister, Willow snapped her mouth shut.

Treating Willow like thin air, Winona smiled at Joanna. "I'll go find my seat."

"Alright," Joanna said, looking reluctant to let her go.

She turned to Willow and gave her a look of pure exasperation.

"Someone hands you an absolute angel of a daughter-in-law, and you don't even know how to appreciate her. You drove her away. Just wait, your son is going to hold this against you for the rest of your life."

If Joanna had a daughter-in-law that smart, beautiful, and sweet, she'd be showing her off every single day.

Willow sneered. "She just has a pretty face. Yulen is exceptional; it was her privilege that he even looked twice at her."

Joanna realized talking to her was a waste of breath. She ignored her and went back to taking sweet photos with her new husband.

When Yulen walked into the banquet hall, his eyes locked onto Winona, and a faint smile touched his lips.

He walked over and sat down right next to her.

Winona completely ignored him.

Yulen naturally poured her a glass of water, reminding her, "After the ceremony, let's go over and take pictures with Joanna together."

Winona still didn't respond.

Yulen just smiled and casually struck up a conversation with one of the guys sitting nearby.

The table was filled with several handsome, young men—mostly the groom's cousins.

Yulen didn't feel a shred of jealousy. In his mind, Winona would never look twice at any of them, so he had nothing to worry about.

The MC's voice echoed through the hall, drawing Winona's attention to the stage.

Yulen followed her, smiling at Joanna. "Aunt Joanna, Winona doesn't need that."

Joanna deliberately raised her voice. "Who says a person only gets married once in their life? Winona, get over here and catch it!"

Winona nodded and joined the crowd of women.

Joanna's husband gently adjusted his wife's hair, his movements full of tender adoration.

Watching them from afar, Willow's chest tightened with a sour, bitter feeling. The last time she saw her own husband was two months ago, and she had caught him buying a designer bag for his female assistant.

Because they were in a crowded luxury boutique, she had to maintain her dignity and swallow her rage, not daring to make a scene.

Recently, after Camille's breast surgery, Willow had gone for a checkup as well. The doctor explicitly warned her to keep her stress levels down, or she might be facing the same surgery.

She looked at Joanna—radiant, happy, and vibrantly healthy—and cursed under her breath. Only the selfish, heartless women get to live comfortably.

Winona easily caught the bouquet.

The crowd erupted into applause.

Yulen, however, scowled. He had a very bad feeling about this.
