Willow couldn't stand seeing Winona in the spotlight.
The Locke family had provided her with a life of luxury for years. She was ungrateful, and now she wanted to look for a new man?
Joanna grabbed Winona's hand, pulling her in for a group photo.
Yulen quickly stepped up, trying to position himself right next to her.
Winona, refusing to be near him, sidestepped to a different spot.
Frowning, Yulen was about to pull her back when the photographer called out, "Alright, look here! Smiling!"
He was forced to drop it.
After the photos, Winona headed back to her table to finish her meal.
Yulen trailed behind her, his tone laced with irritation. "Winona, weren't you being a bit unreasonable back there? We're a couple. Shouldn't we stand together?"
Winona sneered, fully prepared to tear into him about exactly what kind of "couple" they were.
Suddenly, a waitress carrying a tray of food walked past.
Someone subtly tripped her, and the dish went flying—landing perfectly on Winona's dress and shoes.
The waitress gasped in horror, immediately grabbing napkins and apologizing profusely.
Seeing that the girl was genuinely terrified, Winona didn't make a fuss. Plus, she had zero desire to sit at the same table as Yulen, so this was the perfect excuse to leave.
Just then, Willow sauntered over, a snide smirk on her face. "Need to borrow a uniform from one of the waitstaff to change into?"
If Willow hadn't opened her mouth, Winona might not have suspected her.
But seeing her gloat made it obvious—she was the one who tripped the poor girl.
Winona fixed her with a freezing glare. "Mrs. Locke, you really ought to stop pulling these petty, underhanded stunts. It just proves how uncultured you are. I'm letting this slide today out of respect for Joanna, but I won't be so polite next time."
Willow was stunned that a younger generation nobody dared to speak to her like that. "Excuse me?!" she hissed furiously. "Is that how you talk to your elders?"
Raising her hand, she went to slap Winona across the face.
Winona easily took a step back, dodging the blow. Unbalanced, Willow lunged forward for a second attempt, but her heel skidded on the spilled food. She completely lost her footing and crashed hard onto the floor.
Almost immediately, a rancid, stomach-churning stench radiated from the three of them. They instinctively clamped their hands over their noses, leaping away from one another in horror.
Winona calmly capped the bottles, dropped them back into her purse, and pulled out a wet wipe to clean her hands.
Watching them gag and violently dry-heave at their own stench, she gave a mocking laugh and turned on her heel, walking straight out of the banquet hall.
At first, Paige thought the horrific smell was coming from Yulen.
But even after backing away from him, the sharp, fermented, rotting odor lingered. The realization hit her—the stench was coming from her own body.
Every breath she took made her want to vomit.
Willow was in the exact same state of agony.
Joanna walked over, took one whiff of the toxic cloud surrounding them, and recoiled violently. "Hahaha! Serves you right!" she cackled. "That's what you get for bullying Winona. Finally getting a taste of your own medicine!"
Furious that her sister was kicking them while they were down, Willow glared at her, grabbed Paige's hand, and the two of them bolted in absolute humiliation.
Yulen, refusing to stay near them, ripped off his ruined jacket, threw it on the ground, and sprinted out to chase after Winona.
