"Right away," Mabel replied. The nanny could not help but marvel internally. This little girl really was Felicia's daughter, which meant that terrifying man from last night had to be her ex-husband. He certainly looked like someone who should not be crossed. And with Mr. Milman making his affections for Felicia so incredibly obvious, the whole situation was shaping up to be quite complicated.
Felicia led Anne to the kitchen to wash her hands before sitting with her at the table to have breakfast. Once the meal was finished, the little girl immediately began yawning, struggling to keep her eyes open. She had been up since five in the morning. Felicia gently guided her back to the bedroom and tucked her in.
While Anne was napping, Felicia's phone rang with a call from Savannah. She slipped out to the balcony to answer it.
"Felicia, we are coming over to see you today. Your brother is joining us," Savannah announced enthusiastically.
Felicia was a bit surprised. "Darin is coming with you?"
Savannah pressed her lips together and sighed. "I mean Greg. After we got back and Darin treated me to dinner, I haven't seen him at all. I even went out of my way to bring him lunch yesterday and still missed him. Since he has been tied up for so long, he must be swamped with work."
"He probably is," Felicia agreed softly.
"Honestly, between his work and worrying about you, I bet those are the only things on his mind right now," Savannah continued. "Until your situation is fully settled, he likely will not even entertain the thought of his own romantic life."
Listening to Savannah's words, Felicia felt a confusing swirl of emotions she couldn't quite put into words. When no response came through the line, Savannah hurriedly clarified, "Felicia, I absolutely don't mean to rush you or make you feel guilty! Obviously, taking care of your situation is the absolute top priority right now."
Felicia smiled, the corners of her lips curving up gently. "I know."
"So, does Max still not know about the divorce?" Savannah asked curiously.
"He knows," Felicia replied.
To her surprise, he picked up quite quickly, his voice flat and devoid of emotion. "What is it?"
"Did you know Max came back to the country and went to see Felicia yesterday?" Savannah asked point-blank.
At her words, Darin clearly paused, caught off guard, yet somehow acting as though he had half-expected the news. "What did they say to each other?" he pressed.
"How am I supposed to know the exact details? But from the way Felicia sounded, this whole mess is not going to be easily resolved."
"Okay. I have to go," Darin said abruptly. With that, he lowered his hand and ended the call. He immediately tried to dial Max's number, but the line was completely dead. The phone was turned off.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
