Out in the living room, Max pulled out his phone and dialed a number. Jeremy leaned back comfortably on the sofa, quietly listening as the other man spoke.
Once the call ended, Max lowered his phone and shifted his piercing gaze to the man sitting across from him. "I haven't let go of her, so don't even think about it," he warned, his voice dripping with unmistakable menace.
Jeremy did not bother to reply, and the living room descended into a heavy, unbroken silence.
That night, Felicia tossed and turned in bed, utterly unable to sleep. It was only when dawn began to break that she finally managed to drift off for a meager three hours. When she woke up, her head throbbed with a groggy haze. She sat propped up against the headboard, unmoving and looking exceptionally desolate. Resting her hand gently against her lower abdomen, she realized she still could not feel the presence of the baby at all.
She lost track of how much time passed before a gentle knock at the door broke her reverie. "Felicia?" Mabel called out softly.
Snapping back to the present, Felicia threw off the covers and walked over to open the door. The nanny took one look at her and asked with genuine concern, "Did you not sleep well last night?"
"I'm fine," Felicia replied softly. "Is breakfast ready?"
"Yes, it's all ready. Do you want me to bring it in here, or will you eat in the dining room?"
"Where are they?" Felicia asked, glancing toward the hall.
"Mr. Milman and the other gentleman left at some point during the night. Neither of them is here right now," Mabel explained.
Felicia let out a small hum of acknowledgment. "I'll go wash up first."
"Alright."
Felicia returned to her room and pulled back the curtains. The relentless rain from the previous night had finally ceased, giving way to a bright, clear sky. She changed into a fresh set of loungewear and headed to the bathroom to wash up. Afterward, she swallowed two folic acid pills along with her prenatal vitamins. Just to be safe, she carefully tucked all the pill bottles away into a drawer. Once she stepped out of her bedroom, she headed to the dining room and gave Mabel a quick heads-up about her plans.
Anne let out a small breath of relief. "Oh, good. As long as you two aren't fighting. Daddy is always so busy. I really want him to get some good rest."
"He will rest as soon as he finishes his work," Felicia promised gently. "Have you had breakfast yet, Anne?"
The little girl shook her head.
"Then let's get you something to eat."
Felicia helped take off the small backpack Anne was wearing. Mabel stepped inside, rolling a suitcase behind her. "The bodyguards are waiting outside," she clarified.
Felicia nodded in understanding. "Please bring her things to my bedroom," she instructed.

Take her back? Want to see her?? Donno about Felicia but I think I’m falling for this Max somehow🫠🙈pls update daily...
I knew it! Hopefully Felicia's health will improve and will want to have the baby. Oh how I despise Max's family....
Please post *I forgot I ever loved you*...
Is this coming to an end...
Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
