Just then, Ava walked down the stairs, having just put little Sean to bed. She immediately spotted Max standing in the living room.
Darin stepped sideways and handed her the medical report. "Take a look at this, Ava."
Ava took the document, her brow furrowing slightly. She glanced at Max before turning back to Darin. "Did Jeffrey send Felicia back?"
"No," Darin replied. "This must be from an examination Jeffrey ordered for Felicia a few days ago. Look closely, Aunt Ava."
Hearing this, Ava felt her heart sink again. She scrutinized the report and murmured, "The results are slightly better than last time."
Felicia physical and mental state prior to the pregnancy made her unfit to carry a child. The fact that her condition was gradually improving was undoubtedly good news, as it meant the baby could likely be saved. Felicia and Max were inextricably bound by this child. Perhaps from the very moment Felicia became pregnant with Anne, their destiny had already been sealed. There was probably never any escaping it. She turned her gaze back to Max, who stood rooted to the spot, his handsome face betraying no emotion whatsoever.
Ava walked right up to him, lifting her chin to confront him head on. "Now that you know, I have nothing to hide. The doctors initially advised terminating this pregnancy. Even after all the treatment, her levels still have not fully normalized. I personally hoped Felicia would not keep the baby. When complications arise right from the start, she is only going to suffer more later on. After all, she did not have an easy time when she was pregnant with Anne, and I refuse to watch her suffer again only to be cast aside. But if Felicia insists on keeping the child, there is nothing we can do about it. However, you and Felicia are divorced now, so legally, this child belongs to the Ross family."
Her tone and posture were resolute, showing absolutely no intention of compromising with him. If he planned to use any strong arm tactics to claim the child or force Felicia into anything, she would vehemently oppose it. Listening to Ava’s words, Max remained remarkably calm. He was not blind to her deep seated resentment toward him.
"The child will definitely be kept," he stated evenly. "When she returns, I will arrange for the best people to take care of her and help her nurse her body back to health."
He offered no further defense against Ava’s accusations. He had only come to the Ross household today to confirm one thing, that the child Felicia was carrying was his.
As soon as the words left his mouth, a cold scoff cut through the room. "Why should we believe you?" Colton demanded harshly.

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
