He was her son, after all. She understood him better than anyone. Although his eyes were completely focused on Anne when he saw she had come alone, Tatiana could still detect the subtle shift of emotion in his gaze.
From childhood to adulthood, there had never been anything he wanted but could not have, whether it was affection or material possessions. He never needed to take the initiative, nor did he ever feel the sorrow of loss. Yet now, simply because he did not see Felicia, his emotions were stirred. This indirectly proved just how deeply he cared for her.
At this thought, Tatiana's expression darkened considerably. She genuinely could not comprehend what it was about Felicia that made him so devoted. Fortunately, Felicia seemed to know her place. She knew Max would give up on her sooner or later.
Two days later, Felicia was preparing to leave for Cloudville when she received a call from the cathedral. They invited her to attend a grand blessing ceremony scheduled for the following day.
Shortly after she had returned to the country, she had contacted this highly prestigious cathedral in the Capital and donated two million to commission a private blessing ceremony.
The private blessing ceremony had lasted for three full days.
After the ceremony concluded, the cathedral staff had contacted her to assure her that Max would be safe.
Felicia had initially planned to politely decline the invitation to return, but after some thought, she decided to go and fulfill her vow of gratitude. Thus, she had temporarily changed her flight to the following afternoon.
The next day, after the ceremony ended, the priest presented her with two blessed amulets. She expressed her gratitude and was just turning to leave when she saw two people approaching. Keeping her gaze straight ahead, she walked briskly out of the main hall.
As she descended the steps, a voice called out from behind her.
"Felicia."
Felicia did not break her stride, acting as though she had heard absolutely nothing.
Kennedy stood rooted to the spot, his eyes fixed intensely on her retreating back. His hands, hanging by his sides, unconsciously clenched into tight fists. Ever since he discovered that Evelynn was actually Felicia, his emotions had been indescribably complex. He could hardly believe he had fallen for a woman he had once thoroughly despised.
Coincidentally, his father had asked him to go abroad to manage a company branch and gain experience. He had accepted the offer and left the Capital, only returning last month. But even after coming back, he still found himself uncontrollably drawn to her whenever she appeared on television. He felt like he was losing his mind. Later, he had even seen Max publicly declare his relationship with her.
"Two weeks ago. She commissioned a private ceremony."
After leaving the cathedral, Felicia headed straight to the airport.
When she arrived in Cloudville, the oppressive heat was absent, replaced by a continuous, gentle drizzle. The moment she settled into the car, she received a call from Jeremy.
"Have you arrived?"
"I just got in the car. It has been raining non-stop here."
"It will probably rain for a few days, which is good since it will not be so hot. Just be careful not to catch a cold."

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
