The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1048
Anne adapted to school life very quickly. The current academic material posed no pressure for her, making learning an easy and joyful experience. Felicia and Max still had no contact with each other, seemingly accepting this unspoken arrangement by mutual agreement. Anne never mentioned wanting Felicia to move back home to live with her dad, nor did she ask when her parents would get married so she could be a flower girl. She simply stayed by her mother's side.
Felicia, of course, noticed the change in her daughter. She wanted to ask about it but didn't know how to broach the subject. All she could do was pour all her energy into taking care of Anne.
One day, Darin returned to the Capital. He arrived at the Ross family home in the evening, bringing back plenty of gifts, including special presents for Anne and baby Sean.
"Uncle Darin!" Anne called out when she saw him.
Darin stepped forward and scooped her up. "You seem to have grown taller again, Anne."
"I did grow taller."
Darin laughed warmly. "Not only did you grow taller, but you're also getting prettier by the day." Anne really did look a lot like Felicia when she was little. Anne giggled happily.
Colton walked over with a smile. "You're finally back. You're busy from dawn till dusk, so it's a rare treat to see you."
Darin set Anne down and offered an apologetic look. "Things will ease up a bit now. I'll come back more often to visit you, Dad."
"Why go through all that trouble? Just stay here at the house," Colton suggested.
Hearing this, Darin instinctively glanced toward Ava and didn't respond.
"Alright, let's eat first," Ava chimed in to smooth things over.
"Yes, let's eat," Darin agreed. He swept his gaze over the people in the living room but didn't ask any further questions.
Felicia typed. 'You missed out on a dinner with him today.'
Savannah's reply was confident. 'There will be plenty of chances in the future. I'm not worried about missing one.'
After chatting for a while, Felicia set her phone down and went to the bathroom. Anne was sitting on the sofa, watching an animated show on TV. Suddenly remembering she needed to take her calcium vitamin, she got up and walked to the nightstand. Not seeing it on top, she pulled open a drawer. Inside, she spotted a small red pouch. Curious, she picked it up, untied it, and pulled out a blessed amulet. In it, she saw her father's nam.
When Felicia emerged from the bathroom, Anne ran up to her. "Mom, what is this, and why does it have Dad's name on it?"
Felicia froze for a moment before reaching out to take it. "It's nothing. Are you done watching your cartoons?" She tried to change the subject, unsure of how to explain it to her daughter.
"I was supposed to take my vitamins and saw this in your drawer. What is it, Mom?"

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
