The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1032

After Ava found out, she adamantly refused to let Felicia go to Cloudville. She urged her to stay home, rest, and nurse her body back to health. However, Felicia still had unfinished business at work and could not simply quit on the spot. Ava was unyielding this time, insisting that once the current tasks were handled, Felicia had to suspend all work and focus entirely on resting.

"In the past, I always let you do whatever you wanted, but this time you must listen to me," Ava said, her face stern and entirely uncompromising.

Felicia reached out, wrapping her arms around Ava's arm and resting her head against her shoulder. "Alright," she replied affectionately.

"That is more like it," Ava murmured.

After a good night's rest, Felicia headed to the office the next day. Her workspace had been kept perfectly intact. Savannah stopped by her office to check on her. "Felicia, you are back."

"Yes. How have things been lately?" Felicia asked.

Savannah leaned sideways against the desk and handed her a cup of coffee. "Work is the same as always. I just signed a five hundred million project. As for life, I am eating and drinking well. But if we are talking about my love life, Darin ran off again."

Savannah had originally planned to ask him out again after their dinner date, and Colton had even wanted to invite Darin over for a family meal. She never expected him to suddenly take off for New York. Felicia looked at her in confusion. "Ran off again? What do you mean?"

Savannah studied her expression. "It seems he did not tell you. He went to New York."

She wondered if Felicia had seen the latest gossip. The news was spreading like wildfire through their social circles. After all, many people had personally witnessed Max and Andrea's past relationship.

For the next two days, Felicia was bogged down in endless meetings, listening to reports from regional managers.

Meanwhile, she received a somber piece of news. The Hawthorne family had issued an obituary that morning announcing Brysen's passing due to illness. Representatives from all sectors were going to pay their respects, with the memorial services slated to last three days.

Nate sent word that she ought to make an appearance. No matter what had happened, respecting the dead was paramount. Even though she and Max were officially divorced, the news had not been made public yet. Showing up would prevent any unnecessary gossip and speculation.

Felicia fully understood Nate's reasoning. "I know what I have to do," she told herself.
