Max cast a fleeting glance at her before coldly turning away. Faced with his icy indifference, Andrea bit her lip, her fingers tightening on the door handle. "Max, I'm so sorry. Please, I just need a favor."
Max offered no response. The driver marched over, shielding Max from her view. "Miss, please step aside."
Refusing to give up, Andrea pleaded frantically, "Max, someone is following me..."
The driver firmly shut the door. "Miss, if you don't move, I will call security."
Staring at the closed door, Andrea didn't dare push her luck. Seeing she had frozen in place, the driver returned to the front seat and started the engine. Andrea stood alone in the street, her eyes narrowing as she watched the car slowly drive away.
Later that afternoon, Felicia attended a meeting with a corporate partner. The opposing representative was none other than Dannie. Dannie had recently resigned from BlueMarble Investments and secured a position at this new firm, stepping directly into the role of Project Director.
Just the day before, Dannie had shown up at Roen Capital to deliver lunch for Jeremy, only to be denied entry. Her intentions were painfully obvious. She’s aggressively pursuing him. But what Felicia found even more surprising was the gossip Heather had shared: Jeremy's parents, Adrian and Shannon, were already well acquainted with Dannie. They had even shared a meal. Adrian, in particular, was highly impressed with Dannie, finding her exceptional and a perfect match for his son.
Heather had been furious. "I don't know who introduced her to my parents, but they adore her. My mom even told me to spend more time bonding with her."
Felicia recalled the phone call Jeremy had received from his mother days ago. They had likely been discussing this exact situation. Dannie was a master of self-packaging. To earn an audience with Adrian and Shannon, she must have put on a flawless performance. And now, she was sitting in Roen Capital as a business partner. Felicia had to admit the woman was resourceful.
Dannie stood up as well, her demeanor humble. "Evelynn, could we have a private word? There's something I need to tell you."
Felicia looked at her. With staff from both sides still present in the conference room, there was no need to air personal grievances publicly. She nodded at Mr. Shaw, signaling for him to leave. Once the room was cleared, Felicia crossed her arms. "Go ahead. What is it?"
Dannie spoke in a calm, deliberate tone. "I'm primarily passing on a message from Mr. and Mrs. Milman. They hope you will resign and distance yourself from Jeremy. Aside from Roen Capital, I'm sure there are plenty of other firms better suited for you, Evelynn."
Felicia's eyes turned frosty. "Is this genuinely their request, or just your own delusional fantasy?"

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
