The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1013

To this day, Yvonne had never made any effort to acknowledge Felicia.

Felicia's expression remained perfectly composed. "Do you want to go to Northwick as well, Savannah?"

Savannah lowered her hand. "I should probably head back. My mom told me to come home for dinner yesterday anyway."

Heather laughed, giving Savannah a big thumbs-up. "Savannah, you never cease to amaze me. With your execution skills and boundless energy, you could succeed at anything. If Darin still doesn't appreciate you, it's entirely his loss."

Savannah smiled, pulling out her phone to check for flights to Northwick. The earliest option was at six o'clock that evening. Without hesitation, she booked a first-class ticket.

It was already four o'clock. After finishing their desserts with the girls, Savannah took a taxi straight to the airport.

At five-thirty, Savannah strolled into the first-class lounge. Her eyes immediately locked onto the man sitting on a leather sofa, quietly reading a newspaper. Sitting directly to his left was a young, exquisitely dressed woman. While her features were not stunningly beautiful, her heavy makeup elevated her to a modest level of attractiveness. At this moment, she was enthusiastically striking up a conversation with Darin, blatantly asking for his contact information. The raw infatuation in her eyes was impossible to hide. She looked as though she wanted to glue herself to him.

Coincidentally, Savannah recognized the woman perfectly. It was a classic case of enemies crossing paths on a narrow road. Her name was Fiona, the beloved daughter of a prominent Northwick shipping tycoon. The two of them had been at each other's throats since childhood. They were natural-born enemies.

Back when Savannah was officially engaged to Darin, Fiona had been driven mad with jealousy. Later, when the engagement was broken off, Fiona had gleefully paraded around high society, mocking Savannah and calling her unwanted damaged goods. Savannah, in turn, had beaten Fiona up more than once.

Darin, his face completely frosty, stood up, preparing to change seats and escape the annoyance. As he lowered his newspaper, he saw Savannah standing right in front of him. She strode confidently toward him. The two of them locked eyes in silence until Savannah finally spoke.

"You certainly attract a lot of romantic luck, don't you?"

Fiona was genuinely surprised to see Savannah standing there. Darin offered no response, simply finding a new empty seat and sitting back down.

Savannah stared at him, then cast a scathing glance at Fiona. "Your neckline is pulled down pretty low. Who are you trying to seduce?"

The bodyguard froze. He looked over at Darin, whose face was dark as thunder. The sheer, overwhelming dominance rolling off the man was terrifying.

Savannah raised an eyebrow, looking at Darin with a hint of amusement. But his expression only grew colder, and the triumphant smirk on Savannah's lips stiffened.

"Come over here and sit down," Darin commanded. His tone brokered absolutely no argument.

Savannah felt her nerves tighten. She took a step forward and obediently sat in the empty chair to Darin's left. Darin remained silent, withdrawing his gaze and returning his attention to his newspaper.

Fiona cradled her stinging cheek, her eyes red with furious tears as she glared at Savannah. Savannah simply shot her a cold, mocking look, the smirk returning to her lips. Fiona felt like she was going insane with rage. She had just been slapped for no reason. Had Darin not dumped Savannah ages ago? Why on earth was he still protecting her?

Fiona's bodyguard stood rigidly in place, completely unsure of what to do. He knew exactly who Darin was, and he knew Darin was someone he absolutely could not afford to offend.
