The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1002

Anne asked her when she was coming home.

"I'm buying clothes for you right now," Felicia replied. "I'll be back very soon."

"Okay."

It seemed Max hadn't called Anne. He never let his own emotions affect his daughter.

Once the clothes were bought, they left the mall. Jeremy drove Felicia back to her apartment complex and went straight upstairs with her.

"Get some rest early tonight," Jeremy said.

"Mm," Felicia replied. "You too, Jeremy."

When she entered the apartment, Heather and Yara were still there.

"You're back," Heather said.

"Mommy." Anne ran toward her mother and hugged her waist.

Felicia rubbed the little girl's head.

"I'll help Mommy carry these," Anne offered, reaching for the shopping bags in Felicia's hands.

Felicia turned to Heather. "I bought a few outfits for Yara. I hope they fit."

"Alright."

A short while later, Heather took Yara upstairs. Felicia helped Anne wash up and put on her pajamas. Anne rolled around on the bed, acting cute and playful. Felicia played with her for a bit before coaxing her to sleep.

Mabel had specially prepared a late night snack.

"You can go get some rest, Mabel," Felicia said.

"Alright."

Felicia sat alone in the living room, eating a bowl of beef noodle soup while scrolling through her phone. Aside from that one missed call, there were no other messages from Max. She didn't even need to guess. He was definitely holding a grudge.

Max paused for a moment before asking, "Are you hiding something from me?"

Felicia's temper flared instantly. "Get this straight, Max. We are already divorced. I have absolutely nothing to do with you anymore. Do I need to report every single thing I do to you?"

"I just asked a simple question," Max replied. "Why are you getting so worked up?"

Felicia gripped her phone tightly. She really shouldn't have answered this call. She issued a stern warning. "Do not call me again."

She hung up the phone directly and tossed it aside. A faint, aching pain rippled through her lower abdomen. She leaned back heavily against the sofa, closing her eyes and taking deep breaths to calm her racing heart.

"Meow."

The two kittens rubbed against her feet, trying to jump onto the sofa, but their tiny bodies couldn't make the leap. Felicia slowly opened her eyes and scooped the two little furballs onto the couch. Watching the tiny creatures gradually helped her mood settle.

Afterward, she went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash up. She returned to the bedroom to sleep early with Anne.

On the other end of the line, Max maintained the exact same posture, gripping his phone tightly. His expression wasn't looking any better.
