The next second, Vivian leaped up and sprinted toward him. The force of her collision made the man step back slightly, instinctively raising his arms to catch her.
Just like that, it looked exactly like a passionate embrace after a long separation.
"You're finally here! I haven't eaten a thing all day. Marcus is bullying me. He thinks I have no backing, so he's using me as bait to lure out his ex-girlfriend. He..."
The woman's voice was soft, sounding very much like she was whining to her protector at first listen.
But in reality, there wasn't much genuine grievance in her tone.
"That's enough."
Silas pulled her back slightly, his deep gaze washing over her face. "Why haven't you eaten?"
"Marcus won't let me."
Vivian pouted. "He wants to starve me to death."
Right at that moment, Milton pushed a room service cart over. "Miss, your food has arrived."
The bright red lobster was incredibly eye-catching, alongside towering piles of crab, grouper, and a few green side dishes for nutritional balance.
Silas threw it a look. "He's not letting you eat?"
"..."
"Ah." Vivian hadn't expected the food to show up with such perfect comedic timing.
Without needing much explanation, her stomach let out a loud rumble.
"Have you eaten?" She had been holding onto Silas's hand this whole time, squeezing it occasionally, finding the warm texture quite pleasant. "Let's eat together. I'll peel some crab for you?"
Five minutes later, Vivian was wielding her fork, happily gorging herself. The man beside her sat with a perfectly straight posture, wearing gloves and leisurely using the provided tools to peel the crabs. Once a small pile accumulated on his plate, the woman would shamelessly reach over and swap it with her empty one.
"How are you so good at everything? Marrying you is honestly the greatest blessing I've ever had in my life."
"Yeah."
Silas's voice held zero emotion. "My blessing, too."
Of course, he was being completely sarcastic.
But that didn't matter to Vivian. What mattered was that this meal was immensely satisfying.
