The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 411

He booked a five o'clock flight, estimating he would arrive just in time.

Silas Sterling put away his phone and began arranging his work schedule.

The Vaughan Family held an incredibly high status in Bayport, not just because of their expansive business empire, but because Alistair Vaughan's reputation in the literary world was highly respected.

The lavishly decorated hotel, after undergoing further embellishments, looked no different from a royal palace.

By six o'clock, guests were already arriving one after another with extravagant gifts, all hoping to establish a connection with the Vaughan family on such a monumental occasion.

On the top floor of the hotel.

Marcus Vaughan wore a solid black suit. The top two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing a hint of his bronzed chest. His lazy posture exuded an icy, commanding aura as he sat by the window, looking down at the dazzling night view.

A moment later, someone pushed the door open and walked in.

The footsteps were light, stopping exactly ten feet away.

The man spoke respectfully, "Marcus, Miss Fairchild still refuses to eat."

"If she won't eat, let her starve."

His assistant was entirely used to this and simply replied in agreement.

"Are all the expected guests here?"

The assistant hesitated for a couple of seconds, not entirely sure who 'expected guests' included, but to prevent any mistakes, he answered in a deep voice, "Old Mr. Vaughan's old friends have all arrived, along with some of the younger generation."

In other words, the person Marcus actually wanted to show up had not appeared.

He waved his hand, signaling the man to leave.

Milton Turner nodded and turned away.

He pulled out a keycard, swiped it to open the room next door, and walked in.

The woman sat on the sofa with her arms crossed, her expression terrible.

"Miss Fairchild," Milton sighed, completely understanding where her anger came from. But going against Marcus never yielded good results, and she should have been well aware of that.
