The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 394

He meant that Silas was choosing not to hold her behavior against her.

Simon complained internally but still felt the need to offer a verbal defense. "Mr. Sterling is dealing with a mountain of responsibilities every day. He has so much on his plate that he can't even rest while injured; it's truly exhausting for him. Besides... he's not contacting you because he wants to finish up quickly and come back. You shouldn't overthink it, Miss Fairchild."

Vivian gave a dry "Oh." "So you're saying I'm not being considerate enough."

"That's not what I meant at all!"

Hearing his immediate panic, Vivian stopped teasing him and let out a sigh. "I really should record this and play it for your boss. Where else is he going to find an employee like you? Working yourself to the bone all day, only to turn around and defend the billionaire capitalist while neglecting yourself."

Simon laughed awkwardly. "Well... it mostly comes down to my respect for Mr. Sterling's character and the way he handles things."

"Give you an inch, and you take a mile."

"..."

"Fine, if you won't tell me, you won't tell me. Just pass along a message for me: tell him to hurry up and get his work done, and not to forget there's someone waiting for him at home."

Just as she hung up, Vivian received a text from Zachary Chase.

Amara's injuries had been treated, and she was currently resting at the hospital. He asked if Vivian wanted to go see her.

Glancing at the time, Vivian saw it was still early.

Since she had nothing better to do, it was only right to go check on her dear sister.

Driving to the downtown hospital, Vivian got out of the car and headed upstairs, following the room number Zachary had provided.

Before she even got close, the sound of voices drifted down the hall.

It was Amara and Jonah Granger.

"Jonah, look at me... The only reason I'm covered in these injuries is because of Vivian! Haven't you figured it out yet? She's a ruthless, vicious woman who won't even spare her own sister! What do you even see in her?"

"If she truly wasn't going to spare you, you wouldn't be standing here talking to me right now."

Jonah coldly shook off her hand.
