Chapter 327
After carefully finishing the treatment, the nurse nervously glanced over her shoulder. “Mr. Sterling…”
“Are you done?”
“Yes.
“Then get out.
Silas pulled the blanket up slightly, his face completely devoid of expression. “Also, tell all the nurses on duty, the shift supervisor, and your director to wait in the hallway.”
The nurse swallowed hard. “Understood.”
It was over
She had guessed right. Tonight was going to turn into a massive catastrophe.
A moment later, the door clicked shut. Silas stared at the woman in the bed. Her face was as pale as
a ghost, her stunning features making her look like a fragile, broken porcelain doll.
I thought you were so capable. How did you let yourself end up like this?”
The woman had already drifted into a deep sleep.
His low, gravelly voice echoed in the silent room, sounding almost like an illusion.
Silas watched her for a long while. He reached out with his long fingers and gently brushed her cheek. Her skin was still burning hot.
His hand slowly pulled back, his fingers curling tightly into a fist as they hovered in the air.
He stood up and strode out the door.
“Mr. Sterling.”
“Where is Harrison Fowler?”
Simon bowed his head slightly. “He’s still in the room from earlier. Per your orders, we have men watching him.”
“Have you found out why he was at the hospital?”
“Harrison has been tailing Miss Fairchild for the past two days. Today, he saw her assistant rush her to the hospital, so he…
“Yes… someone has already contacted the authorities. We will fully cooperate with the investigation.”
Silas shot him a dismissive look and said nothing more.
There were some people in this world who didn’t even need to raise their voice to command absolute authority.
Everyone present knew full well that if this wasn’t resolved perfectly, the entire hospital administration would be gutted.
Silas returned to the room. The woman on the bed must have felt too hot, as she had pushed the blankets down, leaving her arms exposed to the cool air.
He frowned slightly and leaned over to tuck her back in. Before he could pull his hand away, Vivian leaned into his touch, resting her cheek directly against his forearm.
“Boss.”
Simon lowered his voice. “What should we do about Harrison?”
Silas looked at the sleeping woman’s face. He slightly shifted his hand so she could rest comfortably in his palm.
“What should we do…” Those words slipped from his lips with an underlying, lethal danger. Simon waited anxiously. Finally, Silas said in a calm, measured tone, “Young Master Fowler hasn’t endured much hardship in his life. He must love hospital rooms. That being the case, letting him stay here free of charge for a couple of days won’t hurt.”
