Chapter 296
Chapter 296
Vivian was forced to stay in the hospital for two more days. On Silas’s orders, the nurse had wrapped her foot so heavily it looked ridiculous, claiming she couldn’t move properly and needed strict bed
rest.
“I didn’t break any bones. Why on earth do I need bed rest?”
“In the hospital bed, of course.”
The man walking through the door answered for the nurse. Vivian looked up, her gaze traveling from his long, powerful legs to his lean waist and broad chest.
She instantly pouted, looking thoroughly defeated.
The nurse gave Silas a polite nod and quickly left the room.
“Silas, what are you doing?”
Vivian lifted her leg. It was wrapped so tightly she could barely move, and the worst part was that they had bandaged an uninjured spot!
The man looked over calmly. Hm. The bandage actually looked pretty good.
“A serious injury takes a hundred days to heal.”
“It wasn’t a serious injury! Are you locking me up for a hundred days?”
Seeing her eyes go wide, Silas leisurely pulled out his phone and sat on the sofa, showing zero intention of entertaining her complaints.
Vivian secretly ground her teeth. Let alone a hundred days, she didn’t want to spend another minute in this hospital. To make matters worse, this man was clearly messing with her.
How exactly had she offended him?
She had no idea.
Running a hand through her hair, Vivian pushed herself up from the bed. She hopped over to the sofa, let out a soft cry, and accidentally collapsed right into his lap.
Silas caught her effortlessly, frowning down at her.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m miserable…”
Vivian wrapped her arms around his neck, packing a myriad of emotions into her voice.
“Just think about it. I’ve been in this hospital for days. My team is waiting for me, and I have contracts to sign. If I stay here forever, I’ll go bankrupt! I can’t let all the pressure of providing for our family fall on you.”
Silas stared at the stunningly beautiful face so close to his. She was soft, delicate, and fiercely seductive, her gorgeous eyes shimmering with undeniable charm.

Chapter 296
Whoever said coaxing women had it easiest was right.
She knew exactly how to play the game, and she wielded her charms flawlessly.
“That makes perfect sense.”
Silas held her gaze, his dark eyes resembling a magnetic abyss ready to consume everything. “Why don’t you just hand your company over to me? That solves everything.”
Vivian stiffened. “Give it to you?”
“Sell it to me.”
Silas adjusted his legs, a casual movement that allowed her to lean more comfortably against him. “Give me the company, and I’ll have the finance department wire you a lump sum. You can use it as a nest egg, and you can focus on being Mrs. Sterling. How does that sound?”
How did it sound?
Awful.
Vivian pressed her lips together. After a long moment, she asked, “Are you trying to get revenge for Grace?”
The Gifford family had wanted to acquire Astra Media, and she had demanded a ridiculous price of billions of dollars, effectively rejecting them.
Silas’s dark eyes froze for a fraction of a second. To Vivian, that subtle shift was as good as a
confession.
She ran her tongue over her red lips and smiled.
She raised a hand to caress the man’s cheek.
“What’s so great about Grace? She treated you like garbage, taking everything you gave her for granted without ever giving anything back. She’s only showing interest now because you’re with me… Oh, wait, it’s not even interest. She’s just bitter. Bitter that her loyal lapdog is chasing someone else.”
Silas’s expression didn’t change, but a dangerous storm gathered in the depths of his eyes.
“Keep going.”
“There’s nothing else to say.”
Sensing the danger, Vivian pulled her hand back and nestled deeper into his chest. “I’m just speaking my mind because I feel bad for you. If you loved me even half as much as you cared about her, I promise I’d never let you lose.”
