Chapter 164
An hour later, Vivian found out exactly what the connection was.
Outside the VIP hospital ward, Vivian saw a man in his fifties who looked strikingly similar to Harrison. Dressed in a sharp suit, he gave off the air of a successful businessman. She figured he was Harrison’s father.
But beside the middle-aged man, she surprisingly spotted Grace.
Gifford and Fowler. How were those two connected?
While Vivian was still trying to piece it together, Grace spoke up. “Richard, they’re here.”
Oh.
They were family.
No wonder Silas cared so much.
The moment Grace saw Vivian, she glared at her like she was a sworn enemy, appearing even more agitated than the actual blood relative standing next to her.
“Silas, you made it,” Richard greeted. His gaze swept briefly over Vivian before turning back toward the hospital room.
“Harry is asleep right now. The doctor said he needs to rest here for a few days. Fortunately, nothing is broken.”
Silas’s expression was unreadable, his tone polite. “Indeed. It’s a miracle it wasn’t worse.”
“True, but…”
Richard let out a heavy sigh. “The bruises are all on his face and head. With his line of work, people are definitely going to talk.”
Vivian secretly raised an eyebrow. No kidding.
She had intentionally aimed for the most visible spots.
For the wound on his head, they probably had to shave his hair off.
She stood slightly behind Silas. He didn’t miss the fleeting smirk on her lips as he asked in a low voice, “Did he mention who did this?”
The question made Vivian’s heart skip a beat.
Silas really was the worst wingman.
Richard didn’t seem to react to her presence, meaning that scumbag hadn’t confessed yet. Silas wasn’t about to throw her under the bus, was he?

“No.” At this, Richard’s face grew even darker, filled with fierce disappointment. “The idiot drank too much and still hasn’t sobered up! He didn’t even flinch when the doctors patched him up!”
There were no security cameras in the private room at that club, so they had absolutely na
idea who did it!
“But I heard he was out to dinner with the boss of some ad agency tonight. I don’t know if they’re involved.”
Vivian almost laughed out loud, but suppressed it immediately upon hearing that.
Sigh.
It was only a matter of time before they figured it out.
Grace had been watching Vivian’s reaction the entire time. She strongly suspected this woman was involved, but without proof, she didn’t dare make wild accusations in front of
Silas.
“Silas,” she said softly, her tone laced with desperate reliance. “Can you help us figure this out? My aunt nearly fainted when she heard the news.”
Silas glanced at her. “My input is useless. This is a matter for the police.”
“Speaking of which, why haven’t you called the cops?”
Grace’s expression froze.
Facing the man’s sharp, calculating gaze, she couldn’t bring herself to lie. She muttered, “The server said there were two women in the room with him. Harry… he might have gotten drunk and tried to pull something.”
“So, even if you did call the cops, the other party acted in self-defense?”
“Self-defense or not, they didn’t have to beat him half to death!”
Richard was absolutely furious. He had never even laid a hand on his own son, and now the kid had taken the beating of a lifetime all in one night.
“The Fowler family isn’t going to just sit back and take this! Once Harry wakes up and I get the full story, I’m going to make whoever did this pay dearly!”
Silence hung in the air for a moment. Silas offered a faint, cryptic smile. “Aren’t you worried it’s the other way around, Richard? What if they’re the ones who make Harry pay?”
