The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 564

Harold had spent quite a bit of time coordinating it. Originally, the plan was just for Valerie to swap in, keeping the bridal party size the same.

But after a slight hiccup with the wedding planners, Harold figured that since Nora's close friends were stepping in, she might as well have two bridesmaids constantly at her side for support.

Navigating a massive wedding would be much less stressful with familiar faces around her.

So, the bridal party expanded, bringing the total number of bridesmaids to six.

According to Harold, the number six was a symbol of perfect harmony and good fortune.

"Alright."

Nora said, still a bit dazed.

It felt as though reality had finally crashed into her. She was actually getting married.

And Nathan was the groom.

An indescribable emotion flooded her mind, leaving her completely overwhelmed.

"Nora."

Nathan's voice seemed to echo from far away.

Nora turned her head instinctively toward the sound.

He was watching her, his face lined with concern. "Are you okay?"

Still slightly detached from reality, she shook her head. "It's nothing... I just can't believe how fast time is flying."

She was really going to marry him.

Nathan entirely misinterpreted her reaction. He bolted upright, tension gripping his frame. "Nora, you aren't backing out, are you?"

"It's too late to change your mind now!"

His panicked tone finally snapped her out of her daze.

Seeing his deeply furrowed brow and clenched jaw, she laughed helplessly. "I'm not backing out."

"It's just... I'm not used to the idea yet."

Hearing that she wasn't having second thoughts, Nathan let out a massive breath.

Realizing she was just dealing with pre-wedding jitters, his voice softened completely. "Don't worry."

"I've got everything handled."

Would the wedding really go off without a hitch?

For some inexplicable reason, a chilling sense of dread crept into the back of her mind.

"Nora?"

Nathan noticed her mood shifting, but he chalked it up to the relentless chaos of the past few weeks draining her energy.

"Do you want to come lay down over here for a bit?"

Curled up on that sofa couldn't be comfortable, and she needed proper rest.

Just as she was about to refuse, he added, "I'm going to take a shower. You take the bed."

"Alright, then."

She stood up to walk over but paused, a sudden thought striking her. "Can you manage by yourself?"

Nathan's mouth worked faster than his brain. "If I can't, are you offering to help?"

Nora stared at him.
