Chapter 241

hey were never going to get a room for her; they went to get Landon.

Diana turned to face Landon, her expression changing entirely.

“Sir Landon. I’ve come to get treated due to a cut, and not only are the healers being insanely rude to me, but Cecilia had said some foul things as well.”

Landon’s eyes narrowed.

“That might work if I hadn’t heard what you just said to Cecilia and if the healers hadn’t told me what you threatened them with,” Landon said, his frown deepening. “It’s a shame our future queen had come from someone so rotten. You should be ashamed of yourself. Also, Cecilia is right. You are wasting the palace staff’s time along with resources.”

Diana’s face paled.

“I’ve been injured. The least they can do is treat me…”

“And let me see said injury,” Landon said, stepping closer to her. “I don’t see any blood, and you don’t look like you’re about to pass out.”

Diana pressed her lips together as she lifted her finger, revealing a small… very small… paper cut. It was so small that Landon had to lean forward to see it, along with squinting his eyes.

“That’s it?” Landon asked, his brows furrowing.

“It might scar,” Diana told him, her voice coming out choked. “I’ve only come here because I wanted treatment for it… to keep from scarring.”

“I know for a fact that the King would never take your side over something like this. You won’t like the outcome if he were to find out,” Landon warned. “If I were you, I would walk away quietly, before you face real consequences.”

Diana’s mouth fell open.

“And what about my papercut?” Diana asked, staring down at her finger with a frown.

Landon rolled his eyes as he went towards one of the drawers nearby and opened it. He rummaged through it for a moment before finding what he was looking for.

He pulled something out and went straight to Diana.

“Here,” he said, handing it to her. “Now leave.”

Diana stared at it with her mouth hanging open; she looked utterly offended.

“A band-aid?” She asked, as if it might disappear and change into something else at any moment.

“A small problem has a small solution,” Landon told her, folding his arms across his chest. “Now that your problem is solved, you can leave.”

Diana looked like she wanted to say something else, but she chose not to, which surprised me the most out of this entire thing. Not before long, she turned and hurried out of the clinic.

A few of the healers let out a breath of relief, while others finally let loose their laughter.

Landon just looked tired as his eyes found mine. He stepped towards the bed, his eyes assessing me for a moment.

everything well, Cecilia?” He asked, cocking his head to the side.

“Yes,” I say, a little too quickly, not wanting him to know why I was here.

He stared at me for a moment longer.

“May I ask what you are doing in the clinic?”

“No, you may not,” another voice sounded from the entryway. Victoria walked in, her head held high, and her eyes focused on Landon. “I apologize, Sir Landon, but regardless of who you are, my patient’s conditions are confidential.”

“His Majesty would want to know-”

“Then his majesty can ask me himself, and I will tell him the same thing. It’s confidential,” Victoria challenged.

Landon didn’t look happy.

“Fine,” he finally murmured. “I will be speaking to him about this.”

He finally turned to face me, his expression softening.

“Whatever is wrong, the King would want to know, Cecilia. Don’t keep it from him forever,” Landon said, his voice almost warm.

Victoria let out a breath as she turned to face me.

“I’m sorry for all the interruptions,” she tells me, shaking her head. “Nothing but drama….I swear.”
