The Alpha King's Mind Reading Maid (Cecilia) novel Chapter 236

Chapter 236

Cecilia’s POV

My mind went completely blank the moment Leopold’s lips touched mine. Everything inside of me was burning to the point where I thought my skin had caught on fire.

The kiss was anything but sweet; it was filled with a raw hunger that I barely recognized. I had never felt something like this before, and it’s not even the first time I have kissed him. Or he had kissed me, I should say

Leopold moved me so I was pinned against the wall; his hands roaming across my body, exploring and claiming. A small whimper escaped me when I felt exactly how turned on he was.

He lifted me off the ground, forcing my legs to wrap around his waist to steady myself, and he carried me over to the bed. He laid me down, his lips never leaving mine. At one point, he nipped at my bottom lip, and I winced at the sting, but immediately relaxed when he licked at it.

It was almost gentle and caring in a way that I had never experienced before.

This was nothing like the kiss I shared with Warren; it was messier and left me breathless and craving more.

His fingers draped through my hair, and I felt the electrical pull that it brought me.

For a moment, I had forgotten about everything. And then Sophia’s face flashed in my mind, and my entire body went rigid.

Leopold was kissing me.

Leopold was touching me.

Leopold had a mate.

Leopold was marrying Sophia.

Just as his lips finally broke free from mine and started to trail down the nape of my neck, I put my hands on his chest and pushed.

“Stop,” I said, my voice coming out hoarse and breathless.

“You don’t mean that,” he said, his eyes staring down at me, dark and filled with something I couldn’t explain with words. “I know how badly you want this, Cecilia. I feel it too. I-”

“You’re marrying someone else,” I said, my voice coming out more choked than I meant it. “You have a mate.”

“And you are my concubine.”

“I will not be the other woman,” I said through angry tears.

The moment he saw the tears glistening in my eyes, his entire expression changed, and he pushed himself away. His hair was a mess, and his lips were swollen; I’m sure mine were just as bad.

“I should go then,” he murmured, his eyes looking anywhere but at me.

I didn’t say anything; I just stared at him, trying to catch my breath. The moment he was gone, I let out a sob. Tears spilled down my cheeks, and I had to cover my mouth to keep from being too loud. No way did I want anyone walking by to hear me.

Needless to say, I didn’t sleep at all tonight.

I was still very awake, staring at the ceiling, when there was a knock on the door. I lost all sense of time, not realizing that it was already morning until I blinked and glanced at the window. I saw the early rising of the sun though the curtains, and I groaned, turning over in bed.

I wasn’t ready to get up yet.

But the knocking continued, and it was growing insistent.

With a sigh, I pulled myself out of bed, putting on a robe as I made my way towards the door. When pulled it open, I wasn’t entirely surprised to see Landon. He was the only one who would wake me at this early hour, and it was usually for something I wanted no part of.

“Sorry for another early wake-up, Cecilia,” he said, bowing his head slightly. “But the seamstress is here for your dress fitting.”

I frowned.

“My what?” I asked, not entirely sure what he was talking about.

“Your dress fitting,” he repeated. “For the rehearsal dinner.”

My heart stopped in my chest as I stared at him.

“Why would I need a dress for the rehearsal dinner?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper as I tried to come up with any reason that I would need a dress other than the fact that I was being forced to attend it.

Landon frowned.

“My apologies, I must have forgotten to mention it,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “It’s customary for the King’s concubine to attend the rehearsal, just as all concubines will be attending the wedding.”
