Chapter 105
This was no longer about me needing to speak to Leopold; I needed to calm the beast raging inside him. It was literally life or death.
“Take me to him,” I said, my voice booming way louder than intended. My Alpha blood must have made my aura shine strongly because they both tensed, their eyes unable to meet mine.
Their bodies were shaking, and for a moment, I thought maybe the King had walked through the door. But I realized quickly that they were shaking because of me. Part of me felt bad, but another part of me was worried about getting to Warren before he killed anyone.
“We will take you to him,” Charlene said, her words coming out forced, like it was painful for her to speak. “But we warn you… He is not stable. It’s dangerous.”
I already knew that, and I still didn’t care. I finished getting out of bed, my feet feeling heavy on the ground from inactivity, and I was a bit wobbly at first. But I had gotten used to it by the time we were out the door.
We traveled down unfamiliar halls, with unfamiliar sights and sounds, and I had a strange sense about this palace. Like the walls no longer knew who I was, and everything was just… off.
I truly wasn’t in the normal castle anymore; what did those maids call it? The Sealed Palace?
What did that mean?
Before I could ask the question out loud, I heard him… he was furious and growling.
I knew most could only hear the growling and snarling… but I could hear so much more than that. I could hear Warren.
“Hurt hurt hurt!!” He was yelling. “Kill them all!!”
There were several bodies already littered around the ground. He was chained in the room, though the chains looked as though they were going to give way soon. His eyes were blazing yellow, and he wasn’t fully shifted into his wolf form, but there were some woeful elements added to Leopold’s natural cold expression.
His canines were enlarged, and I thought, when he looked at me, he was going to attempt to rip free from the chains and charge me. He growled and snapped like he had no idea who I was, and that was the most heartbreaking part about this.
It was scary for a moment that Warren wasn’t in there.
“He’s been like this for several hours,” Charlene explained from the doorway. “There were warriors that sedated him and brought him here after he killed every single rogue in that district.”
“We heard there were no rogues left,” Abby added, her eyes wide.
“Landon ordered that they chained him up,” Charlene concluded. “He was right to do so… because when he woke… he wasn’t himself.”
My heart hammered against my chest as I turned back to the King; he was trying even harder to break free from the chains now, his eyes burning with pure hate and resentment. I had never seen him this angry before, and it was chilling.
I looked around the room; it was a study of some sort with a ton of bookshelves that were now knocked to the ground. The desk was also in half, and the computer was smashed into pieces. There wasn’t a study left in this room; it was destroyed from just the little access Warren had beyond those chains.
“Go,” I told the girls, my eyes trained on King Leopold’s face. I knew with certainty that he was about to break free from the chain, and I didn’t want either of these girls to get hurt in the aftermath of everything.”
“Madam, you should come with us. It’s not safe. We need to get the soldiers,” Charlene said, tugging on my arm.
I hated myself for using this again, but I needed them to listen to me. I whipped around, my eyes trained on both of them, and I

pushed Lora through a little, allowing her Alpha aura and power to rain through my words.
