Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 91

The name Jewel Baker flashed brightly on the phone screen.

Sheila Jensen looked away.

Edmond Halley quickly stepped out, his phone still ringing.

He walked over, answered it, and held it to his ear as he headed into the inner room.

Sheila gathered her things, ready to leave.

Two or three minutes later, Edmond emerged.

Sheila quickly said, "I should head back. Get some rest tonight."

There were doctors and nurses around to change his dressings anyway; he didn't need her for that.

Edmond said, "Wait a second. Let me talk to you about something."

Sheila looked at him. "What is it?"

"Something came up back home. I need to head back."

"You're going back like this?" Sheila couldn't help but frown. "Your wound..."

"It's fine," Edmond replied. "But if I go, there's no one to take care of Tilly..."

"I'll take care of her."

"Alright," Edmond said. "I'll have to trouble you, then. I'll be back in two days at most."

Sheila couldn't help but ask, "What's so urgent? Can't it wait until you're healed?"

"This little scratch is nothing." Edmond started making a call. "Don't worry."

He instructed Dante Spencer to request a private flight path. If that wasn't fast enough, he'd take the earliest commercial flight.

Sheila returned to her dorm, changed her clothes, and went back to working overtime.

By the time she finished, it was past eleven at night.

She checked her phone and saw a message from Edmond.

His flight was at three in the morning.

He wrote: *After I leave, please take good care of Tilly. Thank you.*

Sheila stared at the screen for a few seconds before replying: *Okay.*

Although there was no New Year holiday abroad, considering half the staff were from back home, their workload was relatively light these few days.
