She realized she truly couldn't figure him out anymore.

That very morning, he had ordered a spread full of all her favorite breakfast items.

"I don't eat carrots," she stated flatly.

"Even Tilly isn't a picky eater."

She didn't feel ashamed in the slightest.

He had always known she was a picky eater.

He was just trying to mess with her.

"Well, I am," she replied. "Which is why I can't share this meal with you."

"You're not going anywhere," he ordered. "You have to serve me."

She looked at him incredulously. "Can't you eat by yourself? You managed just fine this morning."

His face flushed with embarrassed anger. "Are you going to listen to me or not?!"

She held her ground. "I don't eat carrots."

He ground his teeth. "I will eat them."

Dante soon returned with the food.

It was from an exclusive private kitchen that strictly prohibited takeout and only offered dine-in service.

But clearly, for someone like Edmond Halley, rules were just suggestions.

As she helped lay out the containers, she let out a silent sigh, staring at the sheer volume of carrots in nearly every dish.

Dante took his leave, leaving the two of them alone in the room.

She handed Edmond his silverware and dished out some rice for him.

"Eat your own food," he ordered.

Taking a bowl of plain rice, she managed a few small bites.

"Anyone watching would think I was starving you." He used his fork to push some food onto her plate. "Eat."

She shot him a look of pure disgust. "Use the serving utensils if you're going to touch my plate!"

He scoffed. "Since when are you such a stickler for the rules?"
