"Who are you calling a pig?"
"It was just a metaphor."
Edmond said, "Pour me a glass of water."
Sheila wasn't quite used to this.
Back when she and Edmond were together, he had always been the one taking care of her, handling every meal and daily necessity.
Now the tables had turned, and she was the one looking after him.
It wasn't a big deal, really.
Pouring a glass of water was simple enough.
She poured him a glass.
He glanced at it. "Too hot."
Keeping her patience in check, Sheila added some cold water.
He said, "Now it's cold."
Furious, she took a sip herself. "It's literally perfect!"
Only then did Edmond condescend to take the glass. He took a few sips and muttered, "It's just okay."
Sheila asked, "Mr. Halley, is there anything else you need?"
Edmond tipped his chin. "My legs are sore. Give them a massage."
Her eyes widened. "What?"
"Are you deaf on top of being blind?" Edmond drawled. "Sheila, just what kind of life have you been living since you left me?"
Anger flared in her chest. "Don't push your luck, Edmond!"
He simply said, "Are you going to do it or not?"
Swallowing her pride, Sheila sat on the edge of the bed and started massaging his legs.
She genuinely wanted to crush his limbs, but his muscles were rock-hard; her fingers couldn't even make a dent.
After a while, not only had she failed to hurt him, but her own fingers were aching.
Defeated, she loosened her grip and just gave him a few token squeezes.
