Edmond shot him a freezing glare. "Since when do you talk this much?"
Dante snapped his mouth shut.
Edmond picked up a book, but after several minutes, he hadn't turned a single page.
For the first time ever, Dante had no idea what his boss was thinking and didn't dare say another word.
A long time passed before Edmond finally spoke. "Ignore her."
"Understood," Dante immediately replied.
Edmond tossed the book aside and walked over to the desk to check his emails.
When Sheila didn't receive a reply from Dante, she sent him another message that night.
Dante debated whether or not to respond.
Edmond's "ignore her" was clearly loaded with personal emotion.
Having worked for him all these years, Dante knew his boss's temperament well enough.
If he replied, Edmond might get angry.
If he didn't reply, Sheila might misunderstand.
After thinking it over, he sent a brief response.
Receiving his message finally put Sheila's mind at ease.
She could have easily contacted Laura privately, but it felt wrong to sneak around.
If Edmond found out, it would be impossible to explain.
So, if she wanted to see Tilly, she had to play by his rules and inform him first.
The next day at noon, Sheila finished her work and headed to the hospital.
When Cecil saw her, a rare smile touched his lips. "You actually came? Why waste the trip?"
"I was worried you wouldn't listen to the doctors," she said, taking a seat beside his bed. "How are you feeling today?"
She kept him company for a while before excusing herself, citing afternoon work.
