Pippa knew exactly how dangerous the criminal underbelly of this city was.
Those vicious drifters were absolutely psychotic; they would tear her apart and leave nothing behind.
If she were thrown to them, she likely wouldn't live to see tomorrow!
Cecil chuckled darkly. "Watch me."
A sickening wave of absolute terror consumed Pippa.
He really would do it.
Looking at the dead, freezing emptiness in the man's eyes, she felt pure horror.
He was entirely capable of anything!
Pippa began violently shaking, her eyes turning red as tears of terror spilled over.
She turned to Sheila in a panic. "If you let him do this to me, m-my cousin will destroy you! Edmond won't let you get away with it either!"
"Was this your own twisted idea, or did Edmond put you up to it?" Sheila demanded.
"Are you delusional?" Pippa scoffed through her tears, rolling her eyes. "Edmond wouldn't waste a single second of his time on you!"
Sheila turned to Cecil. "Throw her out."
Cecil waved a hand, and his men immediately grabbed Pippa by the arms and dragged her toward the loading bay doors.
The deeply spoiled girl shrieked in absolute terror, sobbing hysterically as she fought them.
Once Pippa was out of earshot, Sheila sighed. "Cecil, just scare her a little and let her go."
Cecil looked surprised. "After what she tried to do to you..."
Sheila shook her head. "Just leave it. I don't want to have any reason to interact with these people ever again."
Once the ordeal was finally over, Sheila returned to her apartment and stood under the scalding spray of the shower for a very long time.
Thankfully, the hickeys were localized entirely to her neck.
But her memory of last night seemed to only grow sharper by the minute.
The way she had wrapped herself around Edmond, kissed him, rubbed against him, practically begged him...
It was... completely mortifying.
The shame, the regret, the sheer humiliation...
She never should have gone to that stupid auction!
When she finally stepped out of the bathroom and climbed into bed, she noticed a new text from Cecil.
It read: *I put the jewelry in your purse. See if you like it.*
