The consequences were too horrific to even imagine!
Sheila wrapped the duvet tightly around herself and stepped out of bed, only for her legs to instantly give out beneath her.
She had been so consumed by panic that she hadn't realized her entire body felt weak and leaden.
It felt like the groggy hangover from strong cold medication.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed from outside the door.
Sheila braced herself as if preparing for war. She watched the door push open, instantly locking eyes with the man walking in.
She stared at him in utter disbelief. After the initial shock faded, her eyes flared with pure, unadulterated hatred.
"Edmond Halley!" Her eyes were rimmed red. "You're despicable!"
Edmond was holding a high-end shopping bag, which clearly contained new clothes.
Her previous clothes had been drenched in sweat and... torn during the struggle.
In short, they were a ruined mess and absolutely unwearable.
He closed the distance with long, measured strides.
Clutching the duvet, Sheila tried to scramble backward, but her movements were clumsy, and she ended up awkwardly slipping back onto the edge of the mattress.
His face an emotionless mask, Edmond set the bag down on the bed.
"This is my suite," he stated. "When I came back last night, you were already in here."
Sheila froze.
She gritted her teeth. "And how am I supposed to know if you're telling the truth!"
"These are clothes," Edmond replied coolly. "Put them on."
He turned to walk out.
"Wait!"
Sheila called after him.
He paused. "What else?"
"Where is my phone?"
"Your purse and phone are in the living room."
Sheila quickly changed.
The clothes fit perfectly. Even the bra was her exact size.
Realizing Edmond was the one who had bought them made her flush with overwhelming embarrassment.
