Sheila woke up feeling as though she was burning alive.
Why was it so hot...?
She tugged frantically at her collar, her thoughts completely scrambled.
When she forced her eyes open, her vision was painfully blurry.
Tears pooled in her eyes, her breath coming out in scalding gasps. It felt like she had been dunked into a boiling hot spring.
Too hot.
She tried to push herself up, but her legs instantly gave out, sending her tumbling off the mattress and onto the carpet.
"Sheila!"
Who was that?
Who was calling her name?
The next second, strong arms lifted her up.
It was a familiar embrace, one she deeply craved.
The man holding her had a refreshingly cool shirt pressed against his chest.
Driven by sheer instinct, Sheila nuzzled her flushed face against it.
It felt so good...
But it wasn't enough. She needed more.
Edmond's face was dark with fury as he tried to pry the clinging woman off his body.
But she was acting completely boneless, wrapping herself around him even tighter.
This time, she went even further, tangling both arms securely around his neck and wrapping her legs tightly around his waist.
They had been broken up for over three years, yet she fell right back into this routine with practiced ease!
The thought of her current boyfriend—and the idea that she might do this exact same thing with other men—made Edmond's expression turn downright murderous.
He forcefully peeled her off him and tossed her back onto the bed.
"Sheila! Open your eyes and look at me! I am Edmond! I am not your boyfriend!"
He had no idea why she was suddenly in his hotel suite.
Or why she was in this condition.
This was obviously the result of foul play.
But the most pressing issue right now was figuring out what to do with this woman...
Before Edmond could even finish the thought, Sheila was already crawling back across the bed toward him, her eyes brimming with tears.
She blinked, and tears spilled down her cheeks.
She looked incredibly pitiful.
Staring up at him, she sniffled. "You're so mean... You don't like me anymore..."
Edmond clenched his jaw so hard a muscle feathered.
