Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 33

Simon gave her a look, and Sheila replied, "Yes, we have. We're planning the wedding after the holidays."

Marcus still thought he had a chance.

So what if they weren't married yet? Even if they were, what did it matter?

A marriage without money is always doomed to struggle.

Simon might be handsome and young, but he definitely didn't have as much money as Marcus did.

That single fact outweighed every good quality Simon had.

However, Marcus reached up and rubbed his arms.

Why did it suddenly feel so chilly?

It didn't make sense; the heating in the private room was on and it had been perfectly warm.

Maybe it was just a chill in his heart.

He couldn't resist asking, "How long... have you two been together?"

Sheila answered, "Over three years."

That was quite a while.

Marcus felt the air around him drop another ten degrees.

A dark shadow suddenly loomed over him, startling him. Looking up, he saw Edmond striding out of the room, radiating an aura of pure ice.

Marcus couldn't help but rub his arms again. It really was freezing.

Watching Edmond leave, Sheila didn't even lift her head, choosing to focus entirely on her food.

She wasn't going to waste her mental energy on anyone else.

The meal ended on a pleasant note for everyone involved.

As they were leaving, Simon headed toward the restroom, only to stop after two steps. "I forgot my coat."

Sheila said, "You go to the restroom, I'll grab your coat for you."

Simon nodded. "Alright."

Returning to the dining room, Sheila saw two coats hanging on the rack.

Simon was also wearing a suit today, and since both coats were black, they looked almost identical at first glance.

Stepping closer, Sheila noticed the difference.

The other coat was clearly of a finer material and texture, and it carried a faint, familiar scent of cool cologne.
