Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 103

Didn't he say he was going to send someone to get her?

Why did he show up personally?

And now he wanted to get lunch?

Sheila carried Tilly downstairs and, sure enough, saw Edmond standing by his car. The tall, imposing man carried a sense of steady nobility that sharply contrasted with Cecil's playful, charming demeanor.

"Daddy!"

The little girl's voice instantly brightened the moment she saw him.

Sheila had noticed that Tilly was much livelier now than when she had first met her.

Kids were supposed to be innocent and carefree.

The quiet, overly obedient version of Tilly from before had honestly broken her heart.

"Has my little girl been good? Did you make... Sheila mad?"

Tilly wrapped her arms around his neck, grinning from ear to ear. "I was super good!"

Edmond gently stroked his daughter's hair before turning his gaze to Sheila.

Sheila asked, "Why did you come over so early?"

"I finished my work, so I came over," Edmond said. "A friend of mine opened a restaurant with great food. I'll take you two to try it."

"I'll pass," Sheila said. "Since you're here to pick Tilly up, I should get back to work."

Edmond frowned. "You still need to eat, even if you're busy."

"We have a cafeteria," Sheila replied. "I won't intrude on your time, Mr. Halley."

Edmond's frown deepened. He looked at his daughter. "Tilly, don't you want to eat with Sheila?"

Sheila's brow furrowed as well. "Mr. Halley..."

She turned to the little girl. "Tilly, didn't we have an agreement? I still have to work. Once I'm done, I'll come see you again."

Sheila had already promised Tilly that as long as she was well-behaved, she'd bring her back for sleepovers.

Tilly loved sleeping next to Sheila, so she knew she had to be a good girl.

She nodded. "Yeah! I'm the bestest girl!"

Edmond's expression darkened, and his voice turned cold. "Forget it. I guess neither Tilly nor I have that kind of pull with you."

Sheila couldn't be bothered to argue with him.
