Sheila looked over at Cecil. "The kid is saying hi to you. Cecil, don't be so rude."
Cecil glared at her before finally glancing at Tilly, offering a half-hearted, "Hello."
The little girl was clearly fascinated by the handsome man, tilting her head to study him.
Cecil shot her a sideways glance and muttered under his breath, "Little brat."
Sheila had the two of them sit down. After a moment's thought, she got up to fetch Tilly's personal silverware.
Tilly asked Cecil, "Mister, are you Sheila's brother?"
"Sheila?" Cecil was momentarily thrown off. "Since when are you two on a first-name basis?"
"Since I'm her favorite!"
"You just call her by her name?" Cecil scoffed. "What kind of generational gap is this?"
Sheila returned and explained, "She insists on doing it."
"And you just let her? Suddenly I'm a whole generation beneath Edmond Halley."
"I don't base my status around Edmond." Sheila placed some ravioli on a small plate and blew on them to cool them down.
Cecil leaned back. "Aren't you exhausted, keeping such a massive burden around?"
"Don't say that." Sheila shot him a warning look. "Tilly can understand you."
Seeing her so meticulously care for the child only fueled Cecil's irritation. "She's this big and still can't feed herself?"
Tilly chimed in from the side, "I can eat all by myself! I'm super good at it!"
"Uh-huh, sure you are." Cecil sounded entirely unconvinced. "I don't buy it, unless you show me."
Sheila gave him an amused glance.
But clearly, his reverse psychology worked wonders on Tilly.
She immediately puffed out her little chest. "Sheila, I'm gonna feed myself!"
Smiling, Sheila handed her the silverware and placed the perfectly cooled ravioli right in front of her.
"Stop fussing over her and eat while it's hot. See if it tastes the same as before."
