Chapter 76 

oice, “While it’s true that there was nothing between them in the past, it doesn’t guarantee that there won’t be in the future. It just makes me worry.” 

Melanie said in a choked–up voice, 

Melanie just wanted the Graysons to make their stance clear. Her performance would have been in vain if they had glossed things over. 

Now that the Graysons felt guilty, Melanie wanted them to deal with Felicia immediately. Otherwise, she would have gone to all that trouble for nothing. Sapphire glanced at Felicia, her eyes filled with disappointment. So many years had gone by, and they had always thought that Felicia was the most obedient one out of all of them. She and Luca had never imagined that Felicia would harbor such thoughts. 

She found the situation unacceptable. 

“How about this? Felicia will live on the second floor starting tomorrow, and you two can stay on the first floor. Would that be alright?” 

If they lived on the same floor, they would have to bump into each other occasionally. However, there was less chance for them to meet if they lived separately, except during mealtimes. 

Although Felicia was in the wrong, the Graysons had raised her for many years that they couldn’t just kick her out. 

Melanie was not very satisfied. She wanted to eliminate Felicia completely so the latter would not continue being an eyesore. 

However, the Graysons had raised Felicia for many years. They were sure to have built up a relationship with her. Moreover, Melanie had already embarrassed Felicia in front of everyone. She knew that it was about as much as she could hope for. 

“Don’t worry, Sapphire and Luca. You can make the decisions, I’ll go with whatever you decide.” Melanie behaved perfectly, making everyone feel that she was being very reasonable. 

After the matter was resolved, Luca called Felicia into his study. Everyone knew what would happen to her there. 

Melanie felt smug. She thought that Felicia should have considered things thoroughly before trying to make trouble for her. Now that this had happened, Felicia would certainly not be able to hold her head up high in the family for the next few years. 

Melanie had plenty of ways to deal with her if she tried anything again. 

The entire incident had put everyone off their desire to eat. Melanie had a few bites before returning to her room on the pretext of having no appetite. Sapphire still felt guilty, so she took Melanie’s hand and complimented her lavishly.

Melanie maintained a meek demeanor and pretended to be magnanimous as she reassured Sapphire that she w Sapphire felt her daughter–in–law was being very understanding and wasn’t causing any trouble for their family. 

After returning to her room, Edward v

Melanie took some cooldes from the cupboard, as she hadn’t eaten enough at dinner. Just as she stuffed it into her mouth, 

Melanie stole a glance at him and felt inexplicably guilty. 

Edward was intelligent enough to have sensed Felicia’s feelings for him. Melanie figured that he must have had his own reasons for not exposing her. She felt rather uneasy. Now that she had revealed the issue, it would be very awkward for Felicia and Edward when they met. Even eating at the same table would be a veritable battlefield. 

Melanie had done what she did that day to vent her anger, and she hadn’t thought twice about it. Now that she had calmed down, she felt that her actions were inconsiderate. 

However, there wasn’t much she could do. She’d already done it. What was there to regret? 

Edward did not sit down. After entering the room, he simply stood there, looking coldly at Melanie. After a long time, he finally spoke.
