When Melanie learned that Edward was going to get her a car, she was definitely interested in tagging along to his aunt’s place.
She knew how to drive –she was practically an expert behind the wheel, Getting her license wouldn’t be an issue. She could jump right in as soon as she had a car. Still, she decided to play it cool.
“Of course, I’ll go with you,” she replied.
Edward drove to his aunt’s place, and as they arrived, Melanie couldn’t help but marvel at the wealth surrounding her.
No matter the time or place, rich people always seemed to thrive. Back in her countryside hometown, some folks couldn’t ev foraging for wild vegetables.

Yet here, the Grayson family lived in charming two–story houses and drove nice cars. It was clear that being a farmer was a tough life.
As they stepped into the yard, Melanie immediately spotted Edward’s aunt, Anna Grayson.

“Edward! What a surprise to see you! Come on inside! Anna greeted her nephew with a warm smile and then courteously nodded to Melanie. Though the community looked down on Melare, Anusa made an effort to be polite out of respect for Edward.
Once inside the living room, they realized there were other guests present.
“Aunt Anna, are
e you busy with company? We can come back later,” Edward offered as he settled onto the couch.
Not at all. What brings you here? Anna wawed away his concem.

He glanced at Melanie. “I have a car, but my wife doesn’t. Since I’ll be busy with work, I want to get her a car for convenience. It’s not safe for a p be riding a bike everywhere.”
The smale on Anna’s face faltered at his words.
When she had first heard the news, she had been utterly opposed to Edward marrying Melanie, feeling it was unfair to him.
Now, she was only being cordial because Melanie was carrying the Grayson family’s bloodline–the great–grandchild Xavier had always dreamed of. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have given Melanie the time of day.
Everyone knew Edward had felt pressured into this marriage Was it really necessary to put so much effort into caring for her?
The atmosphere tumed a bit tense.
Though reluctant, Anna couldn’t bear to embarrass her precious nephew.
“The car is out front. If you need it, just take it. There’s no need to pay anything,” she said, her tone generous despite the awkwardness.
“That’s not right. It’s still a good amount of money, I don’t want anyone thinking I’m just here to take advantage,” Edward replied, trying to lighten the mood.

Melanie quickly expressed her gratitude. She didn’t care about the attitude others had toward
her.
In their eyes, she was just a worthless countrywoman who had somehow landed the most capable son of the Grayson family. It was no surprise they resented her
But Melanie wasn’t in a rush. One day, she would prove her worth and earn their respect through her own efforts.
