I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 15

That afternoon, Bonnie printed out her resume and headed straight to the holistic medicine wing of Davenport International Medical Center.

The department head, Dr. Alistair Zimmerman, adjusted his reading glasses as he scrutinized her resume.

There were no prestigious university degrees listed, nor were there any medical licenses. The pages were entirely filled with detailed case studies and treatment logs.

Yet, the more Dr. Zimmerman read, the brighter his eyes gleamed.

"You prescribed these treatments for chronic insomnia and severe migraines?"

"I did, Dr. Zimmerman," Bonnie replied, standing perfectly straight, her tone respectful but confident.

"And this case of severe Bell's palsy... You reversed it with just two weeks of physical therapy?" Dr. Zimmerman's voice carried a hint of sheer disbelief.

"Yes. I used specialized physical therapy techniques passed down through my family."

Dr. Zimmerman closed the file and took off his glasses, the admiration in his eyes slowly shifting into deep regret.

"If you successfully treated all these cases, why haven't you obtained a medical license?"

Bonnie lowered her gaze, hiding the flash of darkness in her eyes.

After her grandfather passed away, his rival had blocked her at every turn.

She had the skills, she had the knowledge, but getting that piece of paper was downright impossible.

"Personal reasons."

Pausing, she added earnestly, "Dr. Zimmerman, I am only applying for the holistic therapy assistant position. I won't take on patients independently, and I won't violate any hospital regulations."

Dr. Zimmerman looked at her, his regret only deepening.

With her level of expertise, working purely as an assistant was an absolute waste of talent.

But the hospital's rules were ironclad: no medical license meant no hiring. No matter how much he recognized her talent, he couldn't break protocol.

"Alright, I understand your situation," Dr. Zimmerman said, sliding her resume into a drawer. "Go home and wait for our call."

"Understood. Thank you for your time, Dr. Zimmerman."

Bonnie offered a polite bow and turned to leave.

As she made her way down the corridor...

A sickeningly sweet, familiar voice drifted out from one of the consultation rooms.

"My boyfriend is treating us all to a fancy sushi dinner tonight. You guys better all be there."

Bonnie stopped dead in her tracks and peeked through the half-open door.

Seraphina was wearing a pristine white coat, surrounded by several young doctors and nurses.
