I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 14

As she walked back, her hands full of shopping bags, she passed by a massive private hospital.

A brightly colored recruitment flyer was posted right on the front notice board.

"Hiring Holistic Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapists..."

Bonnie stopped dead in her tracks.

Though she had learned incredible techniques from her grandfather, her lack of a formal degree and medical license had kept her trapped at the bottom of the barrel.

But deep down, her ultimate dream was always to work in a real hospital.

Even if it was just as a temporary assistant.

Bonnie pulled out her phone and carefully snapped a few photos of the flyer.

If there was even a sliver of a chance, she had to try.

...

By the time Bonnie made it back to the apartment and finished cooking lunch, it was eleven-thirty.

Quentin was roused from his sleep by a mouthwatering aroma.

His eyes snapped open, a brief moment of disorientation clouding his gaze.

Usually, waking up meant an instant onslaught of migraines and exhaustion.

But today, his mind was clearer than it had been in months.

Quentin glanced at the watch on his wrist.

Eleven-thirty.

He had actually slept solidly for nearly five hours.

Before today, that had been physically impossible for him.

He sat up, the blanket sliding off his chest.

In the kitchen, Bonnie was bustling around the stove.

The sunlight spilled over her, giving her an incredibly soft, warm glow.

Quentin looked down at the blanket in his hand, then back at her small frame, his eyes turning entirely unreadable.

This woman... actually seemed to know what she was doing.

If her techniques could permanently cure his insomnia...

Then keeping her around seemed like a rather excellent investment.

"Mr. Vance, you're awake!"

Bonnie walked out holding a beautifully plated dish, her eyes curving into a bright smile.
