I Stopped Waiting and Started Loving novel Chapter 27

On the top floor of Davenport International Medical Center, inside a VIP consulting room.

Dr. Sterling Lennox held the freshly printed medical report, tapping it thoughtfully against his hand.

He was the director of this elite private hospital, and also Quentin's primary physician.

"It's the same old issue. Compression on the optic nerve leading to unstable blood flow, which triggers your intermittent blindness."

"But your numbers are slightly better this time. Aside from the eyes, your other vitals are insanely good."

Lennox pulled up a chair, observing the coldly composed man sitting across from him.

"Be honest with me. Have you been taking some intense vitality supplements over the past couple of days?"

Quentin leaned back in his chair, resting his long fingers on his knee, his brow pulling into a frown.

"Is there a problem?"

"No problem at all. In fact, it's excellent."

Lennox chuckled, his tone teasing.

"Your schedule has been a mess for years, and your body has been running in overdrive. Your digestive system and blood circulation have been totally out of sync. Your diet needed a major overhaul a long time ago."

"It's just that you usually eat so plainly. Throwing high-potency stimulants into the mix will naturally cause some severe overheating at first, but your body will adapt after a few days."

Lennox turned to Jasper, who was standing nearby.

"These recipes work incredibly fast. Whoever made them is an absolute master of herbal medicine. Where did you dig up this chef?"

Jasper instinctively glanced at his boss's completely expressionless face before bracing himself to speak.

"Dr. Lennox, that's not a chef. That's the new wife. Ever since she moved into Riverstone Heights, I haven't had the private chefs come by."

Lennox froze, clearly surprised. "Wife? The one Quentin just married? She knows herbal medicine?"

"She knows quite a bit."

Jasper replied respectfully, though internally he was scoffing.

*Knows quite a bit?* If he hadn't seen her flawless resume detailing her mastery of acupuncture and holistic therapy, there was no way he would have handpicked her out of hundreds of applicants to be Quentin's contract wife!

Lennox let out an impressed whistle, pulled a file from the cabinet beside him, and handed it to Quentin.

"I was actually planning to introduce you to a holistic specialist for your daily physical therapy, but it looks like you've got that covered at home."

"Still, you might want to look at this. It's the girl's job application."
