30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 584

"You know, you're just too stubborn, too caught up in the details, always like this..."

Shania couldn't think of any other reason, so she cut to the chase and asked Leonora directly.

But before she could finish, Leonora interrupted, "Mom, mom, mom, enough already. I'll go, okay? Just let Peyton set it up."

Leonora knew that if she didn't agree to her mother's request for a blind date this weekend, her mom would nag her until dawn. So, she decided to agree sooner rather than later.

Seeing that Leonora finally gave in, Shania stopped her nagging and said, "That's better. Besides, that thing from your past is long gone; you shouldn't dwell on it or let it bother you."

Leonora didn't respond and quickly retreated to her room to take a shower and rest. After a tiring day, she wasn't in the mood to come home and have a battle of wits with Shania.

That evening, after meeting Taylor, Leonora sat on her bed post-shower, her thoughts more restless than usual. Holding a book, she found herself unable to focus, her mind drifting back to the evening with Taylor.

When she got in the car, Taylor made sure she didn't bump her head. He took the napkin after she wiped her hands, and during dinner, he ordered all her favorite dishes. He even knew she had moved to a new place. Though these were normal interactions, Leonora couldn't help but dwell on them.

After tossing and turning for a long time, she finally fell into a restless sleep around 2 a.m.

The next two days returned to normal, as if she and Taylor hadn't crossed paths. He didn't appear in her life.

At noon the following day, while Leonora was having lunch at her office, Peyton called.

"Arielle, the guy has set a place for tomorrow's meet-up. Make sure you're there on time, don't be late."

"Got it."

"This guy's really good, his dad is a high-ranking official. Make the most of it."

"Understood," Leonora replied, half-heartedly.

The man Peyton introduced was 35 years old, a year older than Taylor, and according to her mom and Peyton, he was quite picky due to his family's good conditions, which is why he was still unmarried.

Hearing that the man was picky, Leonora's first reaction was reluctance. At 28, she thought picky men would surely not be interested in her; wouldn't they prefer someone around 25 or even younger? After all, men, no matter their age, always liked someone younger.

But after her mom brought up her ex, insisting she hadn't moved on, Leonora had no choice but to agree. Otherwise, her mom would label her as unable to let go of her past, a tag she didn't want to carry.

After a few more reminders from Peyton, they ended the call. Placing her phone on the desk, Leonora had a premonition that tomorrow's blind date would likely be a waste of time, just going through the motions. Nowadays, if you don't go through these motions, you'll end up wasting more time listening to elders nagging.

After hanging up, Leonora had just started eating again when her phone rang. Seeing the caller, her expression slightly changed.

Taylor?

Even though she had deleted his number, this number had been calling her for over two years, waking her up just as long, and was etched in her mind; she simply couldn't forget it. Setting down her chopsticks, Leonora answered the call calmly, "Hello."

On the other end, Taylor asked naturally, "Are you free tomorrow? Let's have lunch together."
