30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 577

The next morning, Angel woke up to find herself in a hospital room, with Grayson seated by her bedside. She propped herself up on her hands and murmured, "Uncle."

Without even asking, Angel knew that her drinking the previous night must have alarmed Grayson, prompting him to bring her to the hospital. She hadn't meant to worry him.

Seeing Angel sit up, Grayson reached out to check her forehead. "Feeling better? Any discomfort?"

As for the drunken ramblings Angel had let slip the night before, Grayson chose to ignore them, pretending he hadn't heard a thing.

Angel replied, "Much better, no discomfort."

Truthfully, her head and neck were still a bit sore, but Angel didn’t want to worry Grayson, so she kept quiet about it. Otherwise, he might insist on a thorough check-up from head to toe. It was just a bit of drinking, after all.

Relieved to hear she was feeling better, Grayson sternly said, "No more reckless drinking in the future."

Feeling guilty, Angel apologized, "I'm sorry for causing you trouble, Uncle."

"It's not me who's troubled; it's your body that suffers. Alcohol isn't a good thing."

Usually, Grayson would avoid drinking unless absolutely necessary. Yet, Angel had gone ahead and nearly finished her glass in one go the night before.

"Mhm," Angel nodded, her actions the previous night driven by sheer happiness and gratitude towards Grayson. She doubted he realized just how important he and the Ledford family were to her.

The hospital room was quiet, but Grayson's thoughts were loud, filled with concern for Angel's growth. There were many things he could teach Angel, and yet, many things he felt were not his place to address. Especially the words Angel had drunkenly uttered the night before; Grayson found it inappropriate to breach that subject, fearing it would only lead to awkwardness between them.

Soon, a nurse came in to check on Angel, breaking the silence with a few routine checks before allowing her to be discharged. Grayson, seeing that Angel was alright, drove her home.

"Grayson, Angel might be young, but aren't you old enough to know better? Didn't you know it's bad to let her drink?"

"Angel is fine now, but if something had happened because of the drinking, I would have held you responsible." The moment they stepped into the house, Catrina immediately launched into a tirade.

Hearing about Angel's hospitalization due to drinking the night before had nearly caused Catrina to faint. However, after Grayson explained that Angel had merely gotten drunk, Catrina had calmed down, though she still scolded him for not keeping a closer eye on Angel and for letting her drink, considering her still a child.

In Catrina's eyes, Angel would always be the six-year-old girl who had just joined the Ledford family.

Angel quickly jumped to Grayson's defense, "Grandma, it's not Uncle's fault. I drank when he wasn't looking. He's already lectured me, and I promise not to drink recklessly again."
