30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 567

Leonora and Taylor locked eyes, an unspoken tension crackling between them. This time, Leonora felt a small victory; Taylor hadn’t managed to win the argument. A smidge of relief washed over her.

Gently removing Taylor’s hand from her chin, she spoke calmly, “Taylor, I’ve agreed to everything you asked for, and I genuinely gave it a try. But the reality is, we’re just not meant to be. To you, I’m just a passing novelty.”

Before coming to Southbay, Leonora had been fuming, ready to have a massive argument with Taylor. But once she got there, her anger seemed to dissipate.

After voicing her frustrations and disappointments, she didn’t feel as mad anymore. If two people aren’t right for each other, it's better to cut ties sooner rather than later.

Taking a deep breath, Leonora looked straight into Taylor’s eyes. “So, let’s just end this.”

Saying it out loud brought a sense of relief but also a pang of heartache. From the start, both she and Taylor knew they weren’t a perfect match. Yet, they both clung to the hope that they could make it work. Better to face the short-term pain than drag it out and make things uglier later. They needed to preserve whatever dignity they had left.

Leonora had spent a sleepless night, mulling over their relationship. Breaking up seemed like the only viable option. It was inevitable, just like their initial arrangement had been. Besides, she wasn’t the daring type, nor did she have much confidence in herself. She never believed she could change Taylor into a man who would settle down for her.

When Leonora suggested they break up, Taylor’s expression darkened even more.

“Ha! So, it’s over?” His tone was icy. “You must have someone else lined up.”

Taylor’s gaze was cold as he asked, “You want to go back to him? You want to be with him?”

The mention of breaking up made Taylor immediately think of Grant. Leonora had seen Grant the day before. Taylor assumed she wanted to be with Grant, that she thought she was better suited for him.

Seeing Taylor bring up Grant, Leonora felt a wave of frustration. She stood up from the stool. “Taylor, if that’s what you want to believe, I can’t change your mind. There’s nothing more to discuss.”

She had hoped for a civil conversation, a mutual parting. But he never faced his own issues, always blaming her. Leonora didn't want to say another word. It was clearly his fault, his inability to disentangle himself from others. But every argument turned into accusations against her, as if she had ulterior motives, as if she wanted to be with someone else.

Leonora made to leave, but Taylor, his anger boiling over, grabbed her arm and yanked her back, throwing her onto the stool. Her back slammed against the wall, and her mood soured instantly.

Glaring at Taylor, she bore the pain in her back and the weight in her chest. “Taylor, you judge others by your own standards.”

Before Taylor could respond, Leonora continued, “Yes, I want to be with Grant, so let’s break up.”
