30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 556

Trembling, Leonora turned around only to find her department manager staring at her in complete shock.

For a moment, Leonora wanted to cry but couldn't muster the tears.

"Aren't managers supposed to drive to work? How come he’s here today?" she thought.

"Manager," Leonora greeted him with a forced smile.

The manager looked at Leonora in disbelief and then glanced at Taylor's car's license plate. Pointing at Leonora and then at the car's plate with all those eights, he exclaimed, "Arielle, this is, well, quite a surprise!"

Leonora didn't realize that Taylor's ostentatious license plate was what caught more attention than his car itself.

Flustered and at a loss for words, Leonora was saved by Taylor, who stepped out of the car with an air of confidence, smiling, "Geoffrey."

"Mr. Taylor, good morning," the manager hurriedly greeted back, though his eyes were still wide with shock as he looked at Leonora.

Seeing this, Leonora gave the manager a pleading look and put her right index finger to her lips, shushing him gently, signaling for him to keep their secret.

The manager quickly said, "Understood, understood, I get it."

Leonora, usually so unassuming and quiet, had always flown under the radar, working diligently. He had always thought she was lucky, and indeed, she was.

With so many women in the company trying to get close to the two Mr. Taylors, she had managed to snag one.

If the manager knew about Leonora and Grant's past, he would have been even more astounded.

Seeing that the manager had figured out his relationship with Leonora, Taylor politely said with a smile, "Geoffrey, please look after Leonora for me."

"Mr. Taylor, you're too polite. It's us who should be looking after you."

After exchanging a few courteous words, Taylor gently patted Leonora on the shoulder, "Honey, you go in with your boss." He then added, "If only I could be acknowledged openly soon."

Leonora shot him a look that said, "Don't be silly," and then walked towards the company with the manager.

The manager, a middle-aged man in his fifties who had lost half of his hair for the Ferguson Group, walked beside Leonora, marveling, "Arielle, Arielle, this is truly unexpected. No wonder we say our benefits are so good; it turns out you're enjoying them. You truly are the lucky charm of our department."

"But Arielle, with so many people wanting to get close to Mr. Taylor, why are you keeping him under wraps? You silly girl, you need to claim your territory, let everyone know he's your man, so they won't even think about making a move on him."

Taking the manager's advice, Leonora changed the subject, "Manager, don't you usually drive to work? Why take the subway today?"

"Oh! My car's been having some issues these past two days, sent it for repairs."

"By the way, Arielle, how long have you and Mr. Taylor been together? It's been so quiet, nobody had a clue. If I hadn't bumped into you today, I wouldn't have believed it."

Cornered into the topic by the manager, Leonora had to confess, "For two and a half years."

The manager was even more surprised, "That long? You're really patient, but it's this patience that makes a relationship last. And I can tell Mr. Taylor is really fond of you."

"I should stop calling you Arielle; I need to change how I address you."
