30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 555

Leonora was totally baffled when Taylor came up to her, gently took her arm, and started inspecting her: "Did my sweetheart Arielle get hurt? Let me take a look."

As Taylor got closer, Leonora’s attention shifted to him. She glanced down at herself and pointed to her arm and collarbone, saying, "It’s all over here. I won't be able to wear short sleeves tomorrow."

Taylor led her to the bed, sat on the edge, and had Leonora sit on his lap, softly rubbing the marks on her arm. "My Arielle looks good in anything, even with these marks."

Leonora shot back, "It's not about looking good. I'm embarrassed to wear anything revealing. What if someone asks about it? How do I explain?"

Taylor chuckled, "Just tell them the truth, that your husband kissed you."

Leonora rolled her eyes. "You're not my husband."

Taylor laughed even more, teasing, "Why not practice calling me that?"

"I'm done talking to you. I need to go home."

"Not tonight."

"That won't work. I can't make up an excuse anymore, and using Joselyn is too obvious to my parents. You better take me home."

"It's still early. Stay with me a little longer."

Saying that, he cuddled with Leonora for a bit, teasing and joking, before finally taking her home.

On the way back, Leonora was in a good mood. Taylor had brought her a gift, and they chatted on and off, sweeter than any other couple.

When the car stopped under Leonora’s apartment building, Taylor got out with her.

The moonlight softly illuminated the ground.

As Leonora waved goodbye and was about to head upstairs, Taylor couldn't bear to let her go and pulled her into a tight hug.

He said, "Honey, think about what I said today."

Leonora looked up, surprised, "What was that?"

"About coming over for dinner."

"Okay, I'll let you know when I think of a good time."

Taylor held her close and kissed her.

Looking up at Taylor, Leonora remembered the words she heard yesterday and his hurried phone call. Gazing into his eyes, she said earnestly, "Taylor, if you ever fall for someone else, if you don’t want to be with me anymore, just tell me. I won’t cling to you or make it difficult."

Though she had agreed to date Taylor, Joselyn’s words held some truth; not all romances last forever, nor do all marriages.

When she agreed to be with Taylor, she had prepared for the worst.

So, she knew when to hold on and when to let go.

With a deep, serious look in her eyes, Taylor gently lifted her chin, "Arielle, why think of the worst so soon? I don’t want anyone but you. Put those messy thoughts away."

Grabbing his wrist, Leonora pushed his hand away, "Just letting you know, so you're aware. If that day ever comes, just don’t let me be the last to know. Don’t make me a fool."

Taylor assured her confidently, "That day will never come."

"Alright, I'm going home now. You should head back and rest too."

Taylor leaned in for one last kiss before letting her go.

Watching Leonora go upstairs, Taylor couldn't help but smile, thinking the girl still had her insecurities and needed more reassurance.

Unbeknownst to Taylor, two figures were peering down from the balcony above.

"He looks tall, probably handsome."

"It's too close to see his face clearly."

"Arielle always had a taste for good-looking people; she wouldn’t settle for less."

"Of course, if she chose a husband who wasn’t handsome, I wouldn’t agree. Otherwise, my grandchildren wouldn’t be good-looking either." Devon stretched his neck, trying to get a better view of Taylor but couldn’t see clearly.

Taylor was too close to the building; if he stood a bit further away, they might have seen him better.

Inside, Leonora entered the apartment and, hearing noises from the balcony, glanced over to see her parents peering down.
