Taylor's mom had voiced her doubts about Leonora, but Taylor just chuckled and said, "As long as she doesn't leave me, I could never leave her."
Between the two of them, Taylor felt he was the one more invested, more passionate. He couldn't even imagine breaking up, whereas Leonora had brought it up a few times.
Carrie, hearing this, burst out laughing, "Really? You're worried about being dumped? Then you better hurry up and bring her home, make it official. That way, it's all set."
"Son, don't say I'm pushing you too hard. Just bring Arielle back by the end of this month, okay?"
Taylor thought about his mom's deadline and suggestion. "Alright, I'll bring her home by the end of the month."
As things moved forward, it was always Taylor driving the progress—meeting friends, meeting parents, causing a stir at Leonora's place, it was all his doing. So, he didn't turn down Carrie's suggestion. Bringing her home was just for his parents to see her. Whatever happened after, they'd deal with it then.
On the phone, Carrie was thrilled when Taylor agreed. "Alright, then it's settled. Your dad and I will get ready. I'll make sure he's home those days."
Hearing these words, Taylor's mom couldn't hide her excitement. After all these years, they were finally seeing Taylor on the right path, finally bringing a girlfriend home. Their hope of holding a grandchild was finally in sight.
After hanging up, Carrie's mind was already filled with the image of a happy family spanning four generations, thinking she could start shopping for baby supplies tomorrow. Children's toys and books should also be bought.
In the study, hearing his mom cheerfully hang up, Taylor shook his head helplessly. Nearly sixty and still acting like a child. But then again, considering his parents were almost sixty and he hadn't given them a grandchild, it was his fault.
Lightly tossing his phone on the desk beside him, Taylor turned and went back to the bedroom next door. On the bed, Leonora was still sleeping deeply, feeling even more exhausted despite not having gone to work for a few days. Sitting down by the bed, Taylor gently caressed Leonora's face. She didn't wake up, and Taylor, not wanting to disturb her sleep, leaned down to kiss her cheek. Though he missed her terribly.
With his right hand, he brushed aside some hair from Leonora's forehead, murmuring to himself, "Leonora, maybe nothing is impossible. Maybe we can try."
In her deep sleep, Leonora heard nothing and hadn't thought about her future with Taylor.

Meanwhile, at the Ledford family home, Grayson had just entered the house when Catrina came down from the second floor. "You're back."
"Yeah."
"I heard Taylor took his girlfriend to have dinner with you guys today?"
"Yeah."
