30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 515

Amidst Leonora's emotional whirlwind, Taylor was left with no choice but to try and calm her down. He gently wiped away her tears, saying, "You switching from crying to laughing like this has me completely baffled. You really know how to mess with me."

He added, "Alright, alright, I apologize. I was too harsh with those last few words. I shouldn't have threatened you."

Though reluctant, Taylor's apology came from a place of belief that he hadn't entirely been wrong. He thought Leonora's emotions were at least partly influenced by Grant's return. But with Arielle upset, his priority was to soothe her first.

Once she was calm, he would have a proper talk and try to reason with her. Taylor knew that Leonora didn't respond well to direct confrontation, so he wisely avoided it. He knew she was upset and feeling wronged, so he decided to comfort her first.

After all, he had no evidence that anything untoward had happened between her and Grant. Starting a fight now would only push her closer to Grant, and he wasn't about to make such a foolish mistake.

Taylor's apology, though well-intentioned, only made Leonora feel more aggrieved and deepened her sadness. She didn't want to argue or fall out with Taylor; she just wanted to communicate openly and solve their issues.

But often, their emotions overpowered their logic, and they simply weren't on the same page, leading to unhappy conclusions. Wiping away her tears, Leonora said with a choked voice, "I knew you'd misunderstand me, twist my words. But you were the one who initially suggested I only had to pretend until he came back."

"Now that he's been back for so long, yet you're still dragging this out. How do you think I feel? My parents have started to suspect something, and I'm really anxious."

At this point, Leonora wiped away another tear, "I know what you're worried about. Isn't my promise enough? I promise I won't see him again, ensure nothing will happen between us, and I won't embarrass you."

"And about us splitting up, it wasn't because he came back. I mentioned this to you before, and our separation was inevitable. You know that."

"I've been with you for two years; can't we part on good terms?"

Fearing her words still wouldn't convince Taylor, Leonora added, "I know you're upset today because you fought with him. You think my mood is affected by him, but it's not. I'm just nervous about our situation being exposed. I don't want to face the embarrassment, so I'm restless."

"I also told you, I didn't know his status when I was with him. I'm well aware of my own position; I couldn't possibly be with someone like that."

"So, Taylor, let's just end this."

After pouring her heart out, Leonora felt numb, but Taylor seemed unaffected, as if he couldn't hear her. Seeing Leonora address his biggest concern, Taylor exhaled and said, "Leonora, give me some time, let me think it over."

Taylor's request for more time and consideration stirred Leonora. She blurted out, "You're just delaying, looking for excuses again."

This made Taylor unhappy, his expression darkening. With a stern look, he said, "Leonora, we've been together for two years. Do you really think it's that easy to say goodbye? Don't you feel the slightest bit of reluctance?"
