30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 497

Leonora said her aunt had left for Southbay to be with him, which made Taylor chuckle.

Lately, he noticed Leonora was getting more into making promises and sweet-talking him. But, he didn't mind. In fact, he liked it when she did that.

So, he pulled her in for another hug, stole a quick kiss, and took a bit of advantage until Leonora's phone rang again. Only then did Taylor start the car and drive to her apartment.

Once they parked at her place, both hopped out of the car. As Leonora grabbed the groceries from the supermarket, Taylor reached over to take the heaviest bags from her. "Let me carry these up," he offered.

"No need, I can make another trip," Leonora quickly replied, a bit flustered.

She wasn't brave enough to let Taylor come upstairs. If her parents saw him, she wouldn't know what to say.

Seeing her nervousness, Taylor calmly said, "It's already past eleven; your parents are probably in for the night. I'll just leave the stuff by the door and go." He added, "Besides, watching you run up and down with a stomachache bothers me."

With Taylor putting it that way, Leonora couldn't refuse. She gave in but added cautiously, "But I'm not inviting you in for a drink, okay?"

Taylor smirked, "Tomorrow, you can join me for a drink in Southbay."

"Alright," she agreed.

With that, they carried the groceries upstairs. Leonora's apartment building was old, with narrow and steep stairways. Seeing where she lived made Taylor feel uneasy.

She was just stubborn. If he gave her an apartment, she should just take it. If her family asked, she could say she won the lottery. Simple.

They walked quietly. When the corridor lights went out, Leonora stomped her foot, and they flickered back on. Taylor, walking behind her, couldn't help but smile. This was the most outdated place he'd ever been.

They reached Leonora's door. She put the groceries down and turned to Taylor, "Here we are."

Taylor also bent down to place the bags at the door. The corridor was tight, making Taylor's tall frame look even more out of place.

He glanced inside her apartment and asked, "Not inviting me in for a bit?"

Leonora, amused yet exasperated, moved his hand from her face, "You should head back and rest. See you tomorrow."

Taylor caught her hands and pulled her close, "This isn't a proper goodbye."

A bit flustered, Leonora glanced towards her apartment and whispered, "Taylor, stop messing around. My parents might come out."

Taylor responded, "Just one kiss."

Leonora sighed internally. She shouldn't have let him help with the groceries. She was tricked again.

With her hands caught, Leonora lifted her right foot to brace the door, preventing her parents from opening it momentarily. This made Taylor laugh.

As he chuckled, Leonora wrapped her arms around his neck, pulled him close, and kissed him.

At that moment, she was a bit forceful. And she knew if she didn't give in, Taylor would keep at it until her parents came looking for her.
