30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 492

Leonora said, "I also need to mentally prepare myself."

With a smile, Taylor pulled her close and passionately made love to her once more. Afterward, he helped her get dressed and drove her back home.

The drive from Southbay to Leonora's place usually took about ten minutes, but today, Taylor took a longer route. He wanted to spend a bit more time with her, to chat and steal some extra moments together.

He feared, though, that if word got out he was keeping a woman interested solely with his looks and bedroom skills, he'd lose face.

Before meeting Leonora, Taylor never imagined he'd be the type to sweet-talk and cater to a woman.

After a while, Leonora noticed they weren't on the usual route and turned to Taylor. "Taylor, this isn't the way to my house."

Taylor replied, "I wanted to steal a few more glances at you, so I took a detour."

Caught off guard by his honesty, Leonora didn't know what to say.

She suddenly remembered what Joselyn had told her—that Taylor liked her. But if he truly did, why wasn't he offering her love or marriage?

Confused, Leonora decided not to dwell on it. Overthinking might lead to heartache, so she resolved to guard her heart and walk away unscathed.

After looking at Taylor for a while and seeing him glance back, Leonora said, "I'll remember what you said today."

She was referring to Taylor's promise that once Grant returned, they would go their separate ways.

Taylor understood and smiled calmly, taking his hand off the steering wheel to hold hers.

The night view of Ravenwood was as beautiful as ever. Leonora, looking at the bustling lights outside, had never imagined she'd have any connection with Taylor.

Silently, Taylor occasionally glanced at her. Even without speaking, he enjoyed just being quietly together.

Leonora always gave him a sense of belonging, making him feel that no matter how big the trouble or how irksome the issue, just being by her side calmed him and made him feel secure.

When Taylor held her hand, and their eyes met again, Leonora said, "My palms are sweating."

Hearing her, Taylor not only didn't let go but held her hand tighter. "Leonora, when I say I can't give you marriage, it's not because of our different backgrounds. We're just different people. If I force you into my life, it will tire you out, and you'll feel pressured."

Listening to Taylor's explanation, Leonora turned to look at him. "I didn't ask for much, and I know we're not compatible."

With a smile, Taylor continued, "Plus, I'm not a good person. I can't guarantee I'll stay faithful, so even if I made a promise, I can't ensure it's what you want or that you'll be happy."

"You're too traditional to accept the kind of games I play. So, Leonora, all I can do is treat you well while we're together."

Taylor, used to playing the field, never saw himself as a good person. So being with someone, he thought being kind was sufficient, without pondering the future.

And he knew he wasn't good enough for Leonora in terms of character.

Taylor's honesty left Leonora unsure how to judge him, but she appreciated his candor.

However, she understood his honesty stemmed from a reluctance to take responsibility, to avoid marriage.

After staring at Taylor for a while, Leonora said, "Taylor, you're brutally honest! But don't worry; I know my worth and won't harbor unrealistic dreams."

"If you need me to play along in this charade, I'll do it. But when it's over, you mustn't make things difficult for me or disturb my family."

Saying this, Leonora felt a sudden pain in her palm, as if it was connected to her heart. Maybe her embrace had frightened Taylor, fearing she'd cling to him.
