Keith's "carrot and stick" approach, Estrella thought, that old man sure knew how to play his cards, buttering her up before getting to the nitty-gritty.
But honestly, Estrella wasn't one to hold grudges, especially since her love for Jason ran deep. She didn't want to put Jason in a tough spot. Just like when she found out his biological parents' deaths were linked to Landon Cole, yet he still chose to stand by her side. Their love was unwavering.
Moreover, she was confident Keith wouldn't harm her, even if Hans and Paloma didn't come back.
So, she looked at Keith and said with a smile, "Grandpa, you wouldn't hurt me."
Keith turned to her, his eyes widening in surprise, "Young lady, what makes you say that?"
Could she have understood him before they even met?
Caught off guard, Estrella calmly responded, "Keith, you care so much for Jason and love Isaac deeply, so I know you wouldn't harm me."
She added, "Even if your son and daughter-in-law hadn't come back, you still wouldn't hurt me."
Keith, seasoned by life's trials, might threaten Jason or her, but when push came to shove, he'd think twice, unable to go through with it. He wouldn't want to cross Jason, much less hurt Isaac.
Keith's laughter rang out, his hands gripping his cane, "You're quite the sharp one, aren't you? No wonder you dared to stay with Jason even when I had people watching over you."
His hearty laughter was infectious, and Estrella couldn't help but join in. If she hadn't seen through that, her years as a lawyer would have been for nothing.
The thought of Hans and Paloma brought a bittersweet feeling. There they were, alone in a hotel room, uninvited by Landon, ignored by Keith, and certainly not expected to be acknowledged by Jason and herself. They were left to their own devices, a consequence of their prior actions.

But today, Jason was proudly sharing the news of their marriage certificate, causing quite the stir not just within the Nelson family, but among their friends like Taylor Grayson as well. It seemed all their peers, who had grown up together, were wondering why the Nelson brothers were so lucky in love, both married with their second child on the way. Meanwhile, they were still searching for that special someone.
