30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 446

When Jason first glanced up, nothing seemed out of place. But as he recognized the middle-aged couple standing nearby, his face transformed.

Staring at them in disbelief, a flood of mixed emotions surged through him. If he wasn’t mistaken, those faces belonged to Hans and Paloma. But they were supposed to have died over thirty years ago in a car accident that plunged into the ocean, right?

For a moment, Jason’s brows knitted together, unable to sort out his feelings. As he stopped in his tracks, the woman’s eyes turned red, tears welling up. She swallowed hard, her whole body trembling as she gazed at Jason. Finally, she stepped forward, placed a hand on his face, and said with a trembling voice, “Jason, you are Jason, aren’t you?”

Her words broke the dam, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably. The sight of her tears and shock made Jason swallow hard. In that moment, he didn’t need to ask any questions—he had pieced the story together.

He stared at her for a long moment, seeing how emotional she was, tears still rolling down her cheeks. Calmly, he removed her hand from his face. “I’m sorry, but we don’t know each other.”

Paloma’s tears fell even harder, and she tried several times to say something but couldn’t get the words out. Her hands hung in the air, unsure whether to reach out or fall back. She stammered, “Jason, I, I, I am your…”

But the thought of abandoning him back then choked her words. Despite having countless reasons, she and Hans had left him at Ravenwood and hadn’t returned for over three decades.

Hans, standing behind Paloma, saw Jason’s shock and deliberate distance instantly. He approached calmly, suppressing his own excitement. “It seems we’ve mistaken you for someone else. Sorry for the disturbance,” he said, putting an arm around Paloma’s shoulders and leading her aside. He whispered, “Paloma, let’s talk after we meet Tyrone and Cole.”

As he led her away, Jason walked past them without a glance, while Paloma sobbed, “Jason, he is my son Jason, he is.”

Jason heard her but didn’t look back. To him, they were strangers.

Hans tried to console Paloma, “Let’s see Dad first; we can talk about everything else tomorrow.”

But Paloma couldn’t take her eyes off Jason’s departing figure, murmuring, “That’s my son, that’s my son.”

Jason didn't turn back, but his emotions were far from calm. Hans and Paloma hadn’t died after all. What a cruel joke.

He walked to the elevator without looking back, pressing the button. Only when he was back in his car, surrounded by solitude, did he let out a sigh, realizing he wasn’t as composed as he had appeared. His emotions were indeed turbulent.

Sitting in his car for a while, he let his emotions settle. Accepting that he had indeed seen Hans and Paloma, he finally started his car and drove home. The drive was spiritless.

If they hadn’t died, what did his two-year struggle against Keith mean? What did Keith’s thirty-some years of hatred mean? If they hadn’t died, it was hard to deny that they had abandoned him at birth and hadn’t come to see him even once in over thirty years.

If that were the case, what did his recent squabbles with Landon Cole mean, and what about the thorn in his heart?

Arriving at Sandalwood Oasis, Jason sat in his car for a while, staring at the crescent moon outside before finally gathering his emotions to step out.
