30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 412

He insisted there was no need for him to pick her up tonight. Clearly, she had gone out for drinks behind his back.

When Jason questioned her, Estrella looked up at him, all seriousness, and said, "No way! I haven’t had a drop!"

Jason wasn’t buying it. He leaned in close, sniffing her like a bloodhound, then looked at her with a cool detachment. "You sure about that?"

Estrella, feeling cornered, quickly covered up more and diverted her gaze. "Okay, maybe just a sip!"

Seeing Jason’s silent stare, she lifted her right hand, index finger raised in a peace-making gesture. "Just one drink, for social’s sake!"

Jason’s expression remained dark, his voice icy. "You're on your period, and you're drinking?"

Estrella replied with deadpan seriousness, "It’s a light flow."

Jason just stared at her, visibly disgusted, then playfully pinched her cheek.

After all these years, he had yet to meet anyone who could outdo Estrella in spinning tales.

Yet, he couldn’t help but adore this side of her, deeply and irrevocably.

He then fetched a bottle of water from the car, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to her.

Taking a sip, Estrella chuckled, "You've got a nose like a police dog."

Jason shot her a sideways glance, his tone flat. "Estrella, don’t forget I’ve known you for nearly thirty years."

Yeah, how time flies.

It felt like they had known each other for centuries, lived through several lifetimes together.

Their love-hate relationship was even more dramatic than any soap opera.

Looking at Jason’s handsome profile, Estrella placed her water on the car’s hood, leaned back against it, and said with a smile, "Yes, yes, you’ve known me for thirty years. You win."

Jason sat down beside her, his smile lingering as he shared, "Keith’s awake."

Estrella looked at him seriously, "Are you going over?"

"No, Keith will come over after some rest."

As a gentle breeze passed, Estrella gazed at the slender crescent moon and the bright stars in the sky, feeling content.

They continued to chat and laugh together, leaning against the car, enveloped in a sense of closeness and warmth.
