30 Days Till I Divorce My Husband novel Chapter 379

The familiar voice echoed through the office, and Korey immediately dropped the paperwork he was holding, looking up with a bright smile, "Estrella! You made it!"

"I've got a document that needs your signature," Estrella said, handing over a report that Mr. Dill had just signed off on. "Mr. Dill mentioned you'd be in the office today, so here I am."

Seeing Estrella clearly lifted Korey's spirits, a noticeable smile spreading across his face.

Glancing at the document in front of him, Korey spoke softly, "Estrella, if you're not in a rush, would you mind if I finish this up first?"

"Not at all, I'll wait," Estrella responded.

Knowing Estrella was willing to wait, Korey's smile broadened, a reaction only she seemed capable of eliciting from him.

As Korey worked, Estrella picked up a book from his desk. "Do you mind if I read this while I wait? I don't like snooping, especially since you're the boss."

"Of course you can," Korey replied gently.

So there they were, one working diligently, the other absorbed in a book.

The tranquility of Korey's office slowed Estrella's usual pace, contrasting with her typically bustling routine.

Occasionally, Korey would glance at Estrella, unable to hide the amusement in his eyes, as if admiring a painting.

Two years had passed since Catrina's surgery was deemed successful.

When she was sentenced, Korey didn't interfere, respecting both the law and the feelings of Estrella and Isaac.

Later, he apologized to Estrella, who understood his difficult position and mentioned how he and Holly had helped look for Isaac.

Flipping a page, Estrella caught Korey's gaze. "Finished with your work, Korey?"

Calling him by his first name, Korey smiled, "Yeah! Let's take a look at that report."

Talking to Estrella, Korey's voice was soft and filled with warmth, a courtesy he extended uniquely to her.

After carefully reviewing Estrella's report, Korey signed it without hesitation.

As dusk settled outside, Korey handed back the document. "Estrella, how about we grab dinner together?"

"I'll follow your lead," Estrella replied.

For some reason, Korey found it particularly pleasing to be called 'boss' by Estrella, a term that otherwise felt generic from anyone else.

As they were preparing to leave, Blake mentioned he had already made reservations.

Twenty minutes later, as they were about to enter the private dining room at the hotel, they ran into Jason, surrounded by a group of people.

Jason's demeanor cooled upon seeing Estrella and Korey together, his pace slowing down.

He had told her to move on, contemplating distancing himself to avoid causing her trouble, yet seeing her with another man stirred feelings he couldn't ignore.
