Jason gently kissed her cheek and said, "Mom's been a bit off these past few days. Let's wait a couple of days before we bring this up with her."
Jason decided to postpone the conversation. Estrella cupped his face in her hands and whispered, "Jason, don’t forget I’ve already accepted your proposal. I’m officially your fiancée."
"Don’t worry, I won’t forget," Jason reassured her, pulling her into a tight embrace.

The next morning, after wrapping up a meeting at the city council, Jason returned to his office where Drew handed him a stack of documents. “Boss, I’ve got all the files, and the lab results are in too.”
“Alright, let me take a look.” Jason casually accepted the documents, and Drew left his office.
After signing a few papers on his desk, Jason broke the seals on the files and lab reports. As he went through the reports, Jason’s expression grew more serious, though he wasn’t exactly shocked.
Estrella was not the biological daughter of Hans and Paloma. In fact, she hadn’t even been born at that time.
After reviewing the last of the files and reports, including the genetic data Drew had pulled from the database and compared with the hospital's records, Jason couldn’t help but let out a sardonic laugh. Everything was unexpected, yet everything fell within expectations.
Having gone through all the documents and reports, Jason packed them into a bag, ready to confront Landon.
Meanwhile, in the parking lot of the Second City Hospital, Estrella had just received several samples she had sent for testing. Sitting in her car, she took a moment to compose herself before opening the lab reports. As she read through them, Estrella’s emotions were a whirlwind, especially after finishing the last one. Her hands trembled uncontrollably, and her face turned ashen.
She quickly stuffed the reports back into the envelope, started the car, and drove away from the hospital. She didn’t head back to her law firm or home but drove to the riverside at Ravenwood. There, she took out a lighter and burned the reports until they were nothing but ashes.
After ensuring every piece was destroyed, she drove back to her law firm, acting as if nothing had happened, and continued with her day.
In the afternoon, Jason called her to suggest they head back to Sandalwood Oasis for dinner, and Estrella agreed.
That evening, the family of three arrived at Sandalwood Oasis to a delighted Marie, who took Isaac around, reminiscing about Estrella and Jason’s early days there, sharing stories of their past. Isaac didn’t understand much but enjoyed listening, always eager to hear more even though he wasn’t much of a talker himself.
In the kitchen, Jason took it upon himself to prepare dinner, making all of Estrella and Isaac's favorite dishes. During dinner, Isaac managed to eat two full bowls of rice before falling asleep in Estrella’s arms.
It had been a while since they had been back to Sandalwood Oasis, and Estrella felt a mix of happiness and unease, especially remembering the reports she had burned that morning.
After putting Isaac to bed, the couple retreated to their bedroom. Estrella mentioned, “This morning, Mom asked when we were planning to get our marriage license. I think she’s come around.”
